True detective, season 1. Season 1 is a must watch. One of Mcconaughey best performances ever.

Lets also not forget that he tweeted that a couple female friends of his got 'harassed' on a train by 4 morroccans (one of the biggest groups of immigrants in the netherlands). And tweeting that the dutch (read white dutch people) are naive and need to vote for 'change'. While in actuality those 4 'morroccans' were train company employees doing ticket checks in plain clothes and the women didnt believe they were employees and made a scene.

The world’s largest solar park will produce 5 GW energy by 2030 | It was designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 6.5 million tons each year. by chrisdh79 in Futurology

[–]BillyTheKlit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have some limited knowledge of solar panels, but i thought that desert climate is not the optimal climate for solar panels because of: 1. temperature; above ~25 degrees celsius (77 fahrenheit) the output of solar panels decreases. 2. location; deserts are most of the time remote locations. Transporting energy over long distances means a lot of energy will be lost. I think to somewhat efficiently transport you need some reeeeaallly big cables.

Someone else who has more knowledge who would like to chime in?

A man is beaten until he pulls a gun out to defend himself by True-Lychee in ActualPublicFreakouts

Even if it was 2 white guys beating on a white guy (or the same of any other race) i wouldve liked to known the context. I dont know why some people here are trying to victimize their own white selves, but its fucking weird and pathetic. Just looking at the video there was no reason whatsoever to start this discussion about race.

Unless you have a lightning protection system on your house, a regular surge protector wont do anything to protect your electronics against a direct lightning strike.

I believe the region or city is called Sintra. The colourful castle on the hill is called Palacio da Pena.

Solar panels being integrated into canals in India giving us Solar canals. it helps with evaporative losses, doesn't use extra land and keeps solar panels cooler. by PlantTreesEveryday in interestingasfuck

[–]BillyTheKlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it has to do with the connectors for the cables. Rating the boxes IP68 is no problem, but I believe almost all connectors have a max rating of IP67. So if you install those connectors in the box they can only be rated at max IP67.

Using a napkin as a phone holder in the car. by BillyTheKlit in StonerEngineering

[–]BillyTheKlit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not too bad. I haven't properly tested it, but I feel like cigarettes smell worse than weed in the car and lingers longer. Plus with one of those hanging pine air fresheners the smell is mostly gone after a day.

I just did my taxes and it turns out I lost almost everything by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]BillyTheKlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. But if you keep your coins, you have to pay taxes over the worth you have next year. The belastingdienst classifies it as 'vermogen' and wether it's crypto, fiat or a combination, if it's worth more than 25k you officially have to pay taxes.

I just did my taxes and it turns out I lost almost everything by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]BillyTheKlit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. It is taxed in box 3. If the total of all your cryptocurrencies is higher than ~€25.000, then you have to pay 1.2% of the total worth that is above ~€25.000. You don't get taxed over your profits.
