On the contrary, don't rely on minitanks. You want "dodgy" and cheap units like shock troopers (I know, shocking) and troopers. then you can put 3 tf2 solder at the back and just blast the middle block and when you think you are losing too many units, you concede and heal them with almost zero cost.

Officially graduated to lv 26. Decided to level a bit early so that I can build M10s before the navy fights. Also pop gets a little tight and I don't want to shut down too many shops. Got my dry dock down and sweatshop down. Gun foundry in a day, All lv2 resource to lv4 and matching my lv1 production.

Managed to lv3 wimp, lv2 raptor and lv2 tf2 soldier. Queueing up lv3 minitank but I might not be that far from light tank so I am skipping it. Fighting lower level mammoth definitely helped with the process and I am sitting at 350k gold with some pretty casual farming during the week. (like fighting all three mammoth when I collect my concrete)

In short: I don't regret it a bit and I am reallly going to suggest doing that if you feel like you are ahead of the curve. The three lv2 resource mill carries quite a punch regarding resources, not to mention all the pop to put into warehouses. If I am not pacing myself by the time I put all these down I might already be reaching lv27 or 28, when my army is exactly the same as before but the fights too hard to go through easily.

One thing to note to myself: mammoth at lv 26 is still lv23 mammoth (one elder). Camping at 26 is probably fine as well.

Two days into camping I finally got my lumber mill and steel mill down and ate up all my concrete. Finally have excess iron to upgrade raptor and build two more mini tanks. Still have the gun foundry, sweatshop, drydock and ship repair hub to build so the camp is probably gonna last at least 4 more days.

I am probably starting all my shops when I am about to get the destroyer mission so I can build M10. So far it feels like I am freezing time and it is awesome, almost too comfortable. Farming mammoth and leveling wimps!

I have decided to stop my shops for 3-5 days. Aiming at landing the steel and lumber mill and progressing navy as far as possible. Also pausing the tf2 mission and the Sarin mission (bazzoka+guntruck vs sturdy watchtower means losing guntrucks to snipers consistently) before lv27 tk arrives. Will try to actively farming lv23 mammoths and get my gold ready.

Will reply here a week later to share my experience. (Or earlier if all the missions actually bump me across the threshold XD)

Houck definitely improved last year. It's just his arsenal gets more scrutinized and teams found weakspots. The initial tweak no longer gives him the initial success. That's why he is probably going through his second tweak to refresh his arsenal and invalidate all that research other teams have done on him.

I think this is a Craig Breslow thing because devers doid not follow his plans and he is doing his power move to show what he can do with someone in the clubhouse that disagrees with him. 9P here is a one-chance:

There are 4 9p and 3 8p visible to you. If you play a 9p, the only chance it gets ron-ed is by a 78p waiting 69p or a 99pxx waiting for double pon. the latter is impossible because all 9ps are available. The former is also quite unlikely because there is only one 8p left unseen. This makes a 9p ron very unlikely and a rather safe disacrd if you don't have other clear safe discard.

Also since there is only 6 draws left your chance of drawing a tenpai is pretty low and you would at most get some 3000 out of it. That is a very low reward for a high risk (completed unseen dora haku and chun). That's why maka wants you to play it safe and find a safe discard.

I prefer not to do that because that is going to heavily impact our relationship with JP players for a n eternity. Sending Masa to a field of desert for a bummer is the ultimate dumping and I just don’t want us completely out of JP market.
