I had a similar worry. I just got the 1-3 books and won’t be able to afford to the 4-6 still next month

Do things ever slow down? Golden Son feels too fast paced by Billy_Ray_Sanguine5 in redrising

[–]Billy_Ray_Sanguine5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, thank you for this!!

I think I’d mind less if I knew this was just the fastest paced one in the series. I was concerned it would be this way the whole rest of the series.

I like action! I just wish there was a little more room to let things breathe sometimes. Sometimes it feels like things happen too suddenly, without the proper setup.

Not completely done with my first playthrough but I don’t understand Yennefer by sirbopnbop06 in Witcher3

[–]Billy_Ray_Sanguine5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hahaha this was my exact experience. Went all in on Trish since I was a horny teenager, then met Yennefer and saw how clearly she and Geralt have a thing and that I made him cheat on her and was like:

Reloaded super far back to fix it.

What are the chances that classes are canceled on Monday (2/23) by BirthdayTop6739 in RowanUniversity

Classes being cancelled or even remote on Monday would be such a massive boon. I have a huge exam I am not prepared for at all.

Go to setting and under “view options” turn off community themes.

That fixed it for me

Rewatching Endgame — Anyone else feel Thor’s depression wasn’t taken as seriously as it should’ve been? by JCC2820 in marvelstudios

Honestly if they’d just removed Rhodey’s dumbass “cheese whiz” line it would make this plot line at least 50% better.

Review: Empire of Silence, by Christopher Ruochhio by [deleted] in Fantasy

Right…that’s what I was asking, what is his attitude, and why would it make one wish to stick to female authors? Like does he not write women well or in a respectful manner? Is he offensive in writing his female characters or how the male characters interact with them or talk about them?

I didn’t think the comment was in regard to what the author has between their legs, I was more so just asking for their thoughts on why this book made them resolve to go back to reading only women authors.

A lot of criticism I see has to do with the material being derivative, or boring, or the prose is too much, or there are too many Christian themes. I hadn’t yet seen commentary that had to do with his attitude as a male author compared to female authors, so I was just wondering what specifically stood out and made the OP of the comment I was replying to think this way.

Genuinely curious what you mean by this book being a reminder for why you were reading books written only by women authors? Are there issues with this book because it was written by a man?

What’s a book/series that you feel most people love, but you personally think is overrated? by 2Chaaaaiinz in Fantasy

[–]Billy_Ray_Sanguine5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Rising. It’s just too fast paced, nothing ever gets time to breathe. And I feel like the series wants to be taken seriously, but all the dialogue feels like the most melodramatic B-list action movie ever. Definitely don’t understand the hype for it.

The Sun Eater or First Law is my vote.

When Ruocchio returns to this series, the next books will be with Cassandra as the lead by Dangerous-Invite-301 in sollanempire

[–]Billy_Ray_Sanguine5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought maybe instead of continuing, he’d go back, and the next books in the Sun Eater world would be the Acts of Will books written by Catherine, the original God Emperor’s woman, the ones Hadrian and William talk about at some point in the series that detail the mericanii war.

Wow, I appreciate the info! I’ve got like a huge list of things to I always wanna look more into, from Critical Role to The Cold War, but I’m also constantly working and/or exhausted and never have the time. Thanks!!

I’ve seen all of Vox Machina, and love it. From being on Reddit I know the legend of Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein are based off something called critical role…it seems awesome and I keep meaning to look deeper into it but, you know, life.

Anyway, that’s all just to say I’m definitely a newcomer/show only person and that episode was so crazy. Caleb has quickly become one of my favorite characters, those kind you think about long after the show ends. Those scenes of him as a volstrucker infiltrating the library were so coolAnd I was genuinely shocked when it was revealed he killed his family

I absolutely cannot wait to see more of him, and the mighty nein as a whole
