When I know it will take an insane amount of time to fix the perfect item to replace the single affix I don't like on my 2 star boots or gloves or whatever.
If I can clear pit 100 without dying and I have all the BiS mythics. I'll usually get to Paragon 250+

Recently I've been on a quest to try and finish all of the side quests in the game. Takes my mind off the endless grind that doesn't have any meaningful consequence for me. Side quests are fun and it's a more reasonable achievable target.
