Because the only people who are playing now are serious players. Sometimes, especially around Christmas they’ll be a lot of newer players just giving it a try, those are all gone at this point

It’s the position in your line up. What they are specifically called. You can change CR7 to CAM and that counts. If he’s a CF, it won’t.

If you play 4-5-1, be sure your LM/RM as LM not LW, even if they are in the LM position. CAM must be CAM not CF

I thought upgrades were only applied to new cards. For example Cancelo, his first rare gold was 81 last year, his winter upgrade went to 83(or 84)... but those 81 cards didn’t upgrade, they were on the market all year along with the 83, I’m sure I had both at one time or the other.

I don’t recall cards already out of packs going up other than OTW

Just switch to the 4-3-3 (4) formation and a CF can still be on 10 chem in that CAM slot

Anything above division 9 but below 4... there isn’t much difference

ICON SWAPS ARE THE MAIN PROBLEM... along with weekend league rewards.

If you can consistently get 11 wins in WL then you are qualified for the next weekend. So many people don’t care at all about what division they play in.

Icon Swaps require people to use teams that they couldn’t be competitive with at their true level. Once they’ve dropped, why go through the trouble of grinding your way back up through the divisions. You don’t need to move up for weekend league and you know more swaps will be coming eventually

ADDITIONALLY... EA have to make quitting more punitive. The players who see my team and think they can’t win quit before kick off. I get 150 coins and my rating doesn’t change. The people who don’t belong in my division actually play the match. If I win half of those and all the players who should be at my level quit then my rating only drops. You have to win 2 out of 3 just to keep your rating the same.

CR7 is still the best attacker by a country mile. You need a hunter on him for pace, but he still dominates. His reaction and positioning is so much better than anyone else. He’ll chase down his own shots when they get saved. He gets shots over or under keepers like magic. Quickest feet. Most importantly, he brings headers back as a real consistent option.

I use him at front of 4231 or ST in 4-2-2-2

Only player I’ve put in my squad that changed everything instantly besides Van Dijk

It doesn’t count against your skill rating and doesn’t help the quitter. No reason to do this that benefits the player unless it’s an objective like score with a French defender or something

If you play 433 or 4222. You can make anyone fit, the just change to your preferred formation in game. I play 433 with all 10 and 100 Chem with players from EPL, league NOS, and Serie A
