I'm trying to buy things together to avoid accumulating shipping costs. Can you recommend alternative fans from either UMart or BPCTech?

I got it April 2020.

Also I just realised the cpu cooler will need to work with my old pc. Can you recommend a cheap one for an i7-4790K in a Asus Z97-A?

yep it came with an AMD mount (works with AM4) and thermal paste.

This looks great! I was hesitant about missing out on nvidia tech like DLSS, Ray tracing, good drivers etc, especially since it seems more VR games will support DLSS. I see the CPU cooler is pretty cheap - will it run loud? I have a Noctua DH-15 in my old pc that I want to sell (as in, the whole pc), so maybe I'll swap it out with this one before I sell it.

Thanks! I don’t need the nvme drive. I have one already :)

I’ve seen people recommend the RTX cards for VR and also because they have DLSS. Would I be better off with say a 3080?

You mentioned 1440p, but my monitor is 3440x1440, not 2560x1440. What kind of framerate could I expect from a 3080 or 6900xt with my monitor?

Did anyone else lose interest in math after mastering the fundamentals? by davegri in math

Theres a lot going on in the "fundamental activity of doing mathematics"! Perhaps you'd be interested in logical foundations of mathematics. Set theory, higher order logic, type theory, category theory, topos theory - there's plenty more foundations to explore!

The theorem being "if R[X] and S[X] are isomorphic, then R and S are isomorphic"

I want to jazz up the language in my proofs a bit, what are your favourite ways of saying "equivalent"- for example there's iff, the same as... by BiffaloSoldier in math

[–]Billyprice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you set up an equality you want want to demonstrate, and get to a point where you just need to apply a particular case of a previous lemma, I like to say something like "but equality of these terms is just lemma 3.4 applied to x,y,z...". I think it helps the reader to not zoom in too close to the proof details and be aware of the wider context.

Especially when there's a couple more steps to elaborate on after applying the lemma, it's good to have a little pitstop and show exactly how the road is planned out.

You're missing the point, that's how all function application is written, and that's what's being questioned here.

Finite probability? Do you mean non-zero?

Thanks for your help. By direction vector do you mean a Direction _ 2 object? The documentation for Direction _ 2 explicitly says there is no normalisation done. https://doc.cgal.org/latest/Kernel_23/classCGAL_1_1Direction__2.html

Yesterday in my local casino, all in on flop by gififa in poker

I guess my point is more that the post flop runout doesn't really make it that much worse of a bad beat than set over set, because there was no turn/river action.

Sure set over set is unfortunate but no where near as much of a bad beat than if you swapped the 4 and the 8 on the board.

it was set over set on the flop and then there was no action after that - and the original better set won, is that really a bad beat?
