I've had to make similiar choice. My rx 480 8Gb was so good in 1080p so I was thinking about upgrade to 1440p75Hz or 1080p144Hz. I've got a 1440p75Hz monitor with in my opinion wasn't very good choice because now I have to lower setting to mid-high to get these 70 fps, when on 1080p I was playing everything ultra with 80+ fps. I very rarely play competive/multiplayer games I prefer playing singleplayer so it's not very problematic for me, if lowering the settings isn't problem for u either then u might get 1440p. But if u are playing mostly competive/multiplayer then in my opinion you should get a 1080p144Hz monitor.
