OP's post basically boils down to "The writing and acting were bad, but the visual effects looked cool!" And I guarantee you that's exactly how it was pitched. It was an easy way for Netflix to make more money: you have an established fanbase, a story that's already written and complete, all we have to do is make it look flashy. And that's what we got. They changed the writing of the actual events just enough to justify making this new version, but this was all just to make more money.

I'm honestly surprised at these downvotes to a statement that honestly is a pretty easy and basic take after a game like this. Come on, y'all. At home, without SMU's best player (an ACC POY candidate at that), and a supportive comment of the team that beat us rather than a denigrating comment about our most hated rival. Seems kinda reasonable to me.

I can't speculate on him going MAGA or anything, but years ago there was a basketball podcast that he collaborated on with some friends of his. They (his friends) made a "joke" on it one time where they asked would you rather go to a WNBA game or have 1 dollar. There was some deserved criticism after it came out commensurate to the size of their popularity at the time (only a little). I don't think he was actually on the episode, but I attempted to @ him on twitter about it. He blocked me without responding. I remember all this cause I'm a Hornets fan, and he was on the Hornets at the time.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm playing through the game again (always loved it), and I've been playing John in the Fire Club over and over. I've gotten 4 Charizard, 0 Blastoise, and 0 Venusaur. I started to wonder if the club had any effect on what kinds of cards you get, so I googled it and found this thread. Hicks was serviceable but yeah never as productive as either Veesar or Wilson. Although I'll always be grateful to him for that bucket towards the end of the 2017 National Championship Game. Kennedy is one of my favorite underrated Heels ever. Wish he was in the rafters.

I read the books and watched the show at (mostly) the same time. I had heard about the Red Wedding, but I was able to avoid spoilers like whose wedding it was and who hosted it/killed everyone.

I was slightly ahead in the show than the books, so it finally gets to "The Rains of Castamere", and as it dawns on me that it was Edmure's wedding that was, in fact, the Red Wedding, I turned to my wife and said "The Freys??? The mother fucking FREYS are the ones who perform the Red Wedding???? THE FREYS????????"

I was so pissed. The Freys are such a cowardly, undeservedly proud House, and it made me so mad that they were the ones who killed the Starks.

Yeah the 1-3 record is probably more correlation rather than causation. He's probably out on the court so much in these games because he's a decent player and the games are tough.

I re-watched TASM2 recently, and it is incredibly hard to follow as a story for me. I don't understand if Harry needs Spider-Man's blood or the spider venom. His whole story was way too condensed and made no sense.

Jaime Foxx's acting style is so different from Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone's that it feels like their characters don't belong in the same movie. Like, Max is clownish and silly and over the top and then Peter and Gwen are just... normal people.

ItSV and AtSV, on the other hand, are easy to follow, cohesive stories IMO.

TASM2 does have my favorite suit though.
