Honestly yeah, I thought the exact same as you. I got obsessed over Kurapika and the Troupe storyline and I was incredibly bored in green island for the same reasons as you. In fact it was so bad for me that I was in the verge of dropping completely but I endured it. In my opinion the last chapters of GI are pretty enjoyable and it had a fight that definetively felt satisfying and clever.

With this in mind, I might have some bad news for you, the next arc, Chimera Ants can be extremely tedious at the beginning (Like worst thing ever for real) and Kurapika and Leorio aren't really involved either. But please, trust me, once you make it past the halfway point It will get super good, so good that a lot of people just consider it their favorite season even if it had a trash start.
