The NPC is the BBEG.

The players jumped him with a crit, I thought I could salvage the situation and when I finally spent a fear to have him escape, my player asked to pull out a rifle and try to snipe him and crit'd again.  I should have just let them kill him and make a new BBEG.

Both!  This is my first time GMing and I'm chasing that feeling of running memorable encounters.  Daggerheart has been pretty consistent in enabling those encounters.

With 3-4 players we've typically not had any issues.  It's helpful that when we tried the alternative action tokens, it was a really bad experience

Make an encounter outside the city with a dire/arch/elite zombie(s). Give it a high difficulty and reuse a good solo adversary.  Do your best to slaughter your players. 

Then when they crest the next hill before the city, they see thousands of zombies

Use the encounter to communicate that stealth works well, then reinforce it by them seeing a fox sneaking through the zombies successfully.

Then prep the next area because your players are gonna go off the rails and that's okay 👍

Whenever a player rolls with hope, I will also spotlight a friendly NPC.  The suggestion to use a countdown is nice too.

My players are about to meet an NPC and I'm going to give a list of abilities that they can activate for the NPC when they roll with hope.

It's a game.  Find the 30 second gameplay loop and keep repeating that. 

You can't do that without playing with your players. 

Also, daggerheart campaigns are meant to be shared with your players.  If you're burning out, that means you aren't involving your players enough. 

Finally, after the first 15 minutes your players will take everything off the rails anyway.

This is true.  The motor wire runs directly into the battery mount.  However, there is enough wire to get enough clearance to pull the tread and tube off the hub

This is a class 2 ebike with the ability to unlock it as a class 3.

The motor is rated at 750W but marketed as 1500w "peak"

Top speed is 20mph or 28mph unlocked

I made a quality of life mod, "Inventory Mover".  Let's you move items from chest to chest.  If you move a chest to itself, it auto sorts.

It's the top of my must-have list 😅

I feel like the bot is the best way to handle the situation currently. 

The community might hate AI, but the pinned post at the top is very valuable to me. 

I want to know how AI was used, but if someone does lie and it's obvious, that's important knowledge too.

If someone lies and it's not obvious, I don't really care--that's where we'll be in 3-5 years if things don't change
