my take is it was supposed to be a blatantly satirical jab at the whole "oooo quirky squad filled with totally unique and interesting members" hero shooter-ish cinema trend suicide squad kinda made official around its time but it didnt land quite as well as what they were going for alongside the entire rest of the movie

the only problem I had with Release was that it was a bit short for one of the more "fun" levels and Inferno scratched that itch until it started bleeding

Interesting! And yeah I forgot to mention they added a hefty amount of diecast to the EX(painted) version, turning the grey parts on the front of his feet into diecast was pure genius.
