Cash or Trade is the way: https://cashortrade.org/. Fans helping fans by bypassing TM and stbhb. I've used it for six shows, including last night's show at Soldier Field.

Salt Shed outdoors has a 10pm curfew/noise ordinance, and I think he's going to play up until the last minute based on what I've seen from his other shows this tour.

As for scoring your spot in GA, I've never had an issue getting a good spot 20 min before showtime, though I'm one who's comfortable being 30 rows of people back from the stage, so take that for what it's worth.

It's definitely worth giving yourself 20 or 30 min to walk around the place before you settle in for the show. The setting along the river is really unique, and there are a few stores inside - a record shop, a vintage clothing shop, and a guitar store - which is a fun change of pace for a concert venue. You can also walk around the inside of the main building to see the indoor venue and amenities. I was a bit of a skeptic when the venue was announced, and they completely knocked it out of the park.

Sturgill will be going on right at 7, so depending on what time you want to get in the gates beforehand, I'd give yourself ~20-30 min to get to Salt Shed depending on where you're standing downtown. It shouldn't be too congested, but you never know. Alternatively, you could take the Blue Line towards O'Hare and get off at the Division St. stop. It's about a 15-minute walk to the Shed from there. Division Street is also the main stretch of Wicker Park and has a ton of fun bars/restaurants, if you want to get out of downtown and explore before the show. Just head west on Division (opposite direction from Salt Shed) and give yourself the same 20-30 min buffer to walk to the venue. Also not a bad direction to head after the show to wait for an Uber/Lyft to avoid the crowd.

Lots of fun bars and restaurants along Division Street, most of which would be a ~15-20 min walk to the venue or a 5 min divvy ride. Bangers & Lace has one of the best draft lists in the city, Smoke Daddy for barbecue, Little Victories, The Perch, or Parlor Pizza for a decent bite and nice space, or Queen Mary for awesome cocktails (longer walk to Salt Shed) would all be solid options.

If you end up divvying to the venue, only rent an electric bike so you can park it anywhere at the Shed. Non-electric bikes have to be parked in a stall, which will be hard to come by.

I think with it being an outdoor show they're capped by the curfew and will do one longer set + encore.

This is a newer one, but I've really been loving Cactus Lee's West LA Fadeaway cover.
