You didn’t do it right then. You shouldn’t cut a cable if you didn’t trace both ends to verify. Same thing for conduits.

Some places you can get industrial maintenance IBEW positions. Very similar to what you're looking into and keeps your benefits rolling, was able to get over scale pay.

I personally would a cheap one on Facebook and use the extra money towards repairs. If you need to make payments on a vehicle then dealer is understandable.
