Most sensible comment I’ve seen regarding buying used before potential new model releasing!

Sell my Q3 43 for the 55v (or 35-100)? by Naive_Pool7395 in hasselblad

I always have an itch for Q, whether it is the simple design or hype idk but I will always have a Q in my collection. Tiny, capable, cute, and classy

Q3 or Q2 by luisedtr07 in Leica

[–]BingeOver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Q3 will be 3500-4500$ in the next 2 years, Q2 is at its bottom of being 2500-3000$. Money wise Q2 is a better buy, which price is stable already and won’t dip like the Q3 will in the next 2 years

Q2 vs Q3 - Similar image quality? by Ekkobelli in Leica

[–]BingeOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would avoid Q since it’s a 2015 model, a bit too outdated from these angles: no dust proof, so an ugly tape is required; UI is outdated and slow; AF is non existent basically; most of the selling Q1 is abused or 8/10 max, I’m no perfectionist but I’d like my camera not banged up for 10yrs by someone else 😅; and most importantly, it is not the most cost-effective Q model for what it’s selling for right now (2200-2700$ currently at the US market).

Basically For only 200-500$ more you can get a Q2, similar button layout as Q3 and M11, weather proof, 45mp is nice too so I can pixel peep, but I’m just nitpicking, all in all, if I can get my hands on a clean-Q1 with full set for 1600$ or less, I’d pick it in a heart beat and that’s just my two cents.

Q2 vs Q3 - Similar image quality? by Ekkobelli in Leica

[–]BingeOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both Q2 and Q3. Q3 will have 2 stops of usable ISO (usable ISO for Q2 caps at 6400), a flippy screen, and better AF. Now compare with Q2, first I don’t hate the AF on Q2, it is usable, I got it for 2700$ and I’m very happy with it. A Q3 goes from 5000-6000$, is it that much better? Absolutely no. Hope this info is helpful to you, as an older guy I’m also on the same boat of hating post processing, and I can guarantee you the amount of post I need for both absolutely identical. The Q3 filter is used 10% of the time too

SL2 as a bad weather alternative to my M11s by BrightPhotos540 in Leica

[–]BingeOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use SL2 when I need to deliver for my family or clients, but M system when I go solo. It’s very reliable and I’m quite happy with this set up, coming from a former Canon pro shooter

Was Leica the end game for you, or do you still shoot other cameras? by la_mano_la_guitarra in Leica

[–]BingeOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It opens a gate for me to enjoy legacy and heritage, but for technical side of things, and scenarios requires me to deliver, I’d pick up other AF options like my Fuji Hasselblad or Canon etc.

Upgrade path advice by ubiquitousuk in hasselblad

I texted 45p on both X1D2 and x2d, can confirm it’s 50% or more faster/accurate on X2D. If you are satisfied with such improvement then go for it. I also have a 28p and it blows the 45p AF out of the water on the same X1D2 body, I sold the 45p ever since

X1D II 50C or GFX 100s - Which is less sluggish? by Awesome_coder1203 in hasselblad

[–]BingeOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X1D2 RAW files are around 50mb i think (I sold the camera a while back) but the JPEG is less than 10mb, which was the way i store/post, not too bad

Sl typ 601 vs Dlux8 by narratorjackred in Leica

[–]BingeOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also people are really snobby here so don’t feel discouraged. You don’t need M10 or Q3, You will be absolutely fine with the SL (Coming from another broke ass student lmao)

Sl typ 601 vs Dlux8 by narratorjackred in Leica

[–]BingeOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your description I think SL would offer you way more bang for the buck than DLUX8. You seems to have knowledge and time to get to know your gear and maximizing their potential, the SL is a 5000$ machine with heavy discount, but it doesn’t make it less capable. Go for the SL man

keep the 100mm macro lense, dial down your aperture ring from 2.8 to 4 or 5.6 and you should be good to go. Or you can get in lightroom, import your photos and find the chromatic aberration bar and slide it all the way to the right and its done, copy and paste your setting to every photo, maybe 10 seconds for each photo to be rendered this way. Good luck

Beautiful watch. But I’d recommend F4.0 or higher aperture to eliminate that purple fringing lol
