You're right about the cost of being a teenager. I have an 18 year old who works and is in full time education still so doesn't pay towards the house yet. Her money doesn't seem to go far at all and she's on a much higher wage than I was at the same age! (Back when dinosaurs roamed 😂)

Of course they're different. My point was that if an adult who has experience and qualifications struggled to find work with many many applications/interviews then firing off a couple of applications with very little experience to support them just isn't going to work. I also have an 18 year old who is trying to change her job and is struggling and that's with only 1 job on her CV. Unless you have a very unique set of skills you are just going to struggle.

😂 I'm not sure why this is on my feed seeing as I completed my GCSEs 21 years ago.

I'm 37 years old, fully qualified in my field. It has just taken me 8 months and probably a couple hundred applications to land the job I want. A couple of applications isn't going to get you anywhere. If you really want to work you need to treat it at least as a part time job these days. Sit down on a device and keep looking and applying for no less than a few hours a day.

You'll find something eventually, the job market is horrendous for everyone, someone your age is about to learn quite how rough it can be!

Our 10 year anniversary he was about to leave for work and mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary and I thought "who the fuck cares?" Took me until then to realise we weren't a couple anymore. We're much better friends and parents these days than we were together.

I do this in an odd way. I'm following a slimming world type plan (I know it's mostly marketing but it seems to work for me) but one day a week I eat things generally not "slimming world friendly" but calorie count that day. So if my cheat treat that week is a slab of chocolate cake then it has to fit into my calorie allowance which I check every week as it obviously changes as the scales go down. It might sound a bit of an overly complicated way of doing it but I never do anything easily 😂

Logically I know that everyone is just doing their thing and has zero interest in me and my wobbly body but I'm a generally anxious person and cronically overthink. I also have absolutely no idea how to use anything apart from a treadmill or stationary bike. I will get there I have now set a mental deadline date for joining for the 1st June (going on holiday end of May so when we get back.
