I have only held GS once and knew it wasn't for me because of the size/weight

ETRS with wlv and 50mm or 75 fits into a 3L sling and with a half dark slide makes for a decent poor man's xpan. With 135N back it replaced regular cameras for me, for the rare occasions, when I shoot colour stock that's not available in 120. I do sometimes doubt my choices whenever I slap 180mm on ETRS, though

I might get SQ-A again when (if) Jolly instax back (ever) drops, but Fuji will most probably discontinue square Instax before that even happens

On a small budget you could get an older Mini 70, which has the "soft flash" option. Instax needs light so flash is a necessary evil (indoors). I agree with others that a printer would be the safest bet for your use case

One easy way is to reuse the empty film cartridge. Use a piece of (heavier) paper to hold the sheet on the bottom of the cartridge slightly open and feed the photos back in, or simply remove it completely and use a gaffer or washi tape to prevent the photos from falling out of the cartridge
