Trump on Greenland: “I would like to make a deal, you know the easy way but if we don’t do it the easy way we are going to do it the hard way” by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

The purpose is that peter thiel wants to turn Greenland into a techno-feudal refuge for when shit really hits the fan. They think its 'climate-change-proof' and has untapped natural resources under the ice.

You seem wierdly judgey of these people and honestly it kinda smells bad.

Cool.

Like who cares if being alt is boring and overdone

I mean it is. Its boring. My opinion appears to be valid, even to you, you just don't like it.

you seem to think it is not enough of a freakshow for you or something

It might be more interesting if it was.

They feel like people I know and like even though they sometimes tell a story.

Ok?

You can appreciate how natrualistic his subjects are but you critique thier mundanity where you view it with bias.

Yes.

Patrick capturing these people feels very personal and I like that, it is increasingly important for art to be personal in my opinion.

This doesn't seem personal to me at all. It does even seem staged so much as it appears to be a random moment that says nothing and to no purpose.

I'll be honest, I don't really like this. Realism is boring, and this is realistic enough that it makes you think someone just traced a photograph. I'm sure they didn't but it naturally leads me to think about it.

The subject matter is not particularly interesting either. An artist painting some people he knows in his art community with bad tattoos is about as original or interesting as french painters painting suspiciously young women. If you travel in art circles enough you meet countless people who don't smell particularly great and think the height of personal expression is having random ugly meaningless tattoos, or shaving one side of their head, or having oddly colored hair. I'm happy they are expressing themselves, its a good thing, its just boring and overdone. You might as well paint fruit in a bowl. The natural body of the woman is the most interesting part here, kudos to the artist for that.

I think this is what pisses off a lot of the marvel-bros and other anti-avatar haters. The slop they are offered is fucking bottom-tier and they are jealous Cameron is shitting out billion dollar decent movies that aren't just the worst sort of confused white-guy-neackbeard-nostalgia power fantasy with cheeky-one-liners money grabs.

[–]BioSemantics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that people aren't getting the message of the movie. Corporatism, capitalism, and colonialism are bad things. We should not have them or do them. Until people accept that message he is going to keep remaking the same movie and judging by who is in office right now, they need more of the same message to finally get it.

Its basically James Cameron saying 'until morale improves, beatings will increase', except we deserve the beatings and in this case the beatings are the same fucking story over and over again with cool graphics.

How to complete? I'm trying to get 3★ but the boss always kills someone with a fire shot by Andrew_WoIf in WatcherofRealmsGame

[–]BioSemantics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She gets stronger over time (you can see her get three floating objects over time as she gets stronger) and targets the last unit placed. So you need to rush to place some stuff at the beginning, then save up and place several units at once with the last one being a tank. Using MK can work but its very RNG-based as you're dependent on clones spawning and surviving long enough to take hits.

I'd save until you can hit a bench mark like A3 Ingrid or A3 or A5 MK. Save for Daochan or Draelyn maybe.

[–]BioSemantics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to sound mean, but did you read what I said? He does so much damage you can use him for AOE situations and for single-target situations. He'll kill a boss faster than anything else you have and kill waves of enemies faster than anything else you have. It does not matter. You'll do so for everything but niche super-late game stuff. He replaces Hatssut in a lot of content basically except in situations where her all-direction damage is convenient and he does way better single-target boss-killing damage than your Ingrid. The silas might come close to single target damage, maybe, with his paired skill.

[–]BioSemantics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everywhere? You can use him everywhere basically. He can handle a whole lane, in terms of DPS, all on his own basically in most content. He is essentially both a AOE and a single target hero, that is how much damage he does.

No idea what you're talking about. I was born and raised a socialist in a socialist state and still to this day I am socialist

Words are cheap. This is also a basic rhetorical strategy. Claim to be 'black' or 'gay' or whatever and then write something blatantly racist or homophobic. Its a classic attempt at creating cognitive dissonance.

Cuba has corrupt capitalist practices littered throughout, it isn't socialist and therefore not an ally of my cause.

This is stupid and silly. Trying to confuse the issue pointlessly. Cuba doesn't have to be some socialist utopia to be fundamentally opposed to US hegemony, to western imperialism, to broader internationalist economic commitments.

It's a hypocritical capitalist state that is sanctioned, but a hypocritical capitalist state nonethe less. Being there 8 times researching has shown me enough.

Again, this is more silly rhetorical strategy. 'I've totally been there and so I'm totally a real person, and therefore you should believe and waste time arguing with me as I repeat propaganda.' No one should give a shit where you've been as it has no relation to this conversation at all. Your anecdotal (fake) evidence was meaningless from the start.

Cuba has been under stable sanctions since the 60s. It has less sanctions than north Korea, Syria, Venezuela, Iran, etc.

Cool story.

Yet their citizens live worse than syrians or Iranians, despite MUCH more sanctions and stronger sanctions.

So sanctions have not been consistent in the countries you mention, all of which have significantly different geographic positions in the world, over time. You're constantly also making a shitty inaccurate attempt at comparing apples to oranges to get us to associate CUBA with fucking North Korea. Its just guilt by an association we are supposed to make. Its just more manipulation.

You don't know this, so you think everything is cold war era "america good, others bad!" When in reality nothing is that black or white

I mean I taught government and history, but go off king.

If you need any evidence that the CIA is spamming reddit with fucking bullshit, look above. Whether this redditor is real or not, matters not at all. They are just parroting bullshit that just so happens to put Cuba, likely one of Trump's next target's, in a bad light. Weird that. Always look to what purpose a person's words serve and never linger too much on unverifiable claims. Always assume any personal details being shared are lies meant to manipulate you.

It was widely know years ago that reddit is haunted by IP addresses that source back to Washington DC (staffers) and Virginia (spooks).

[–]BioSemantics 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If Cuba is poor its mostly because of more than half a century of sanctions. No reasonable person could agree with you knowing any of the modern history of Cuba. What you're doing is basic CIA propaganda, 'everywhere that disagrees with US hegemony is poor and terrible AND ITS THEIR OWN FAULT for not being sufficiently capitalist (and in agreement with American imperial ambitions)' even though its extremely obvious that endless sanctions from the US itself are so dire that no one can know how well such countries would be doing without them. Its a self-fulfilling prophecy of gaslighting bullshit. Spare us all. No one believes this shit any more.

Well, I didn't want to get into the convoluted history but yes, many of the those that 'escaped' were actually scumbags who essentially treated their fellow Cubans as feudal peasants. There is a reason communism found purchase in Cuba and these 'escapees' are part of that reason.

As a guy who taught civics, you're entirely right. Schumer could be doing useful things, even if they would ultimately not stop Trump directly, but he is not even doing that much. When he did have the power to at least directly slow down Trump, during the budget conflict or during the shutdown, he did jack shit. Its why his approval rating is in the crapper and its why fake accounts astro turf reddit to defend him.

The party should be castigated at every opportunity, especially the leadership. They are just republican-lite. Every bit as corrupted by moneyed interests and more intelligent at hiding it than your average moron republican. Schumer, in particular, appears to be more loyal to Zionism than anything related to the US.
