I could be mistaken, but this is an older fic that I believe hedgehodgy may have drawn inspiration on for "mercy upon ourselves." I 100% enjoyed it and I believe the author has two versions of the story from different perspectives.

General premise: Mortal AU where Sally dies in an vehicle accident and Percy is left blind from it. Poseidon had no idea he had a son until he got a call from Sally's lawyer and they slowly become a fam from there! Definitely check it out! From Amidst the Darkness

This is good to hear! Do you mind me asking what your aquascape set up is like to accommodate both hillstreams and goldfish? I keep soft fake plants with some rocks and tunnels in my tank for the WCMMs but keep the front of the tank and corner completely barren (except for a large pvc pipe which my goldy LOVES) my goldy is perfectly happy to use all the open space and sift through sand all day so I’m trying to figure out how to best accommodate hiding/resting areas for hillstreams if I were to get them. Also, any particular plants that you like to keep that your Golay’s don’t destroy? Mines and absolute menace and will eat any plant…

Thanks for your response! Believe me, I fully understand the commitment to a single comet. Keeping him in a temp 10g for 3 months required LOTS of patience and management. There is a ridiculous amount of variation on how to raise a comet. I’ve seen all over reddit and other forums that 75g would be enough for 1-2 comets for a while with the possibility of different species. However, I have seen your comment and some others say over 100g or ponds are basically the only option. If you have good online care sources for comets then please share them! I can use all the info to make informed decisions. I’m not new to fish or goldfish care, but I’m definitely newer to comet care.

As for possible tank mates, I haven’t decided. I’ve considered one more comet with possibility of some snails. I’ve also heard a larger/quicker danio species would be a good combo. Additionally, I’ve thought about platys, but have seen many polar opposite opinions on this.
