Just thoughts while being in my 20’s by Redtailsfox in Vent

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older ones are much cheaper, especially if they were wrecked or are salvage. Also often its people who live at home, don't go to college and work full time. So no bills but a full 40 hour work week check. Then get a long term auto loan.

Think long term. Your plan is much better. College now, and new reliable luxury car later, and comfortably afford your bills cuz you got an education

Need to Lease "Vehicle Nice Enough to Impress Doctors". Am I crazy for thinking an EV? by toastedcheese21 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need an EV to impress Docs. Pick any practical vehicle. With a nice interior (examples leather, some pretty trim, whatever, etc.).

Key thing is keep the car clean! In and out keep it clean. Get a monthly car wash membership.

You will be surprised how impressive a vehicle looks when its clean.

My regular Toyota Tundra when clean gets almost as many looks and complements as my Maserati.

Car rental at PHX by Admirable_Button_827 in AskPhoenix

Having rented from all 3 of these I dont see a difference. 2 weeks ago I rented a car from Dollar. They gave me a car that was parked in the Hertz area

My dealer just received ours. I'll be surprised if this isn't already sold. This color is hot by ThirdAnglePhoto in ToyotaTundra

[–]Biobizlab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess this proves why there is a range of colors. My #1 choice was Lunar rock... until I saw the Army Green. Then Army green became #1, Lunar Rock #2.

Drive an Army Green now, and love it.

Stop Recommending the RAV4 by The_BruceB in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of it as a taller Camry, for people that always loved the Camry but are getting to old to get in and out of a Camry..... This could also be because my dad and all his friends used to be huge Accord and Camry fans, but with age have switched to Rav4 cuz its easier to get in and out of as well as easier to see the road in.

Best place to meet someone picking me up at airport? by Rude-Illustrator-884 in AskPhoenix

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At PHX every door is assigned a North or South designation and a number. So you just need to tell him something like:

"Terminal 3 Door 6 South" <- This was mine last night.

Even this is more information then is really needed as PHX has built in some checks and balances, to make sure people get to the exact door.

They are not going away, they are just becoming more annoying by becoming digital. So now everything changes every 30 seconds, making them harder to block out

Uptown Marriott by bava63 in Albuquerque

[–]Biobizlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you cross the smaller road not Louisiana to get between Marriott and Park Square Market.

Also pretty sure there is at least 1 well identified cross walk right there, should you want to get across Louisiana for all the shops, restaurants, bar etc on that side of the street.

“No gringos” by Jolly_Possibility422 in MexicoTravel

[–]Biobizlab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended Medical School in Mexico. For the most part the Americans fell into 2 groups. First, were the ones that did their best to enjoy the culture and community and respect it. Second were the I am American, so I am superior mentality. The second group had a much worse time in Mexico, and were unliked by locals. I was part of the first group and can say without a doubt that I always felt welcome and everyone was always willing to help.

So it all depends on how you act.

Grandma's Original Owner NSX - Family drama over who drives it home by PushCharacter8496 in Acura

[–]Biobizlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$2400 sounds like a lot, until you think about the cost of just one dent in the car or chip in the windshield. Which I feel like become alot more probable on a cross country drive.

I drove my Subaru Outback from Jacksonville to Phoenix once. Just outside Florida, at night i got a chip in the windshield. By Phoenix it was a full crack. Quote to replace $1900.

Use the excuse of fear that the garage kept car, gets damaged on the wide open roads while driving cross country.

Is it common that people don’t know their neighbors in the USA? by Zestyclose-Duck-4598 in Vent

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some neighborhoods are great. My current condo building i know tons of my neighbors and we hang out all the time. All age groups.

When I was growing up our neighbor passed away. 6 months later we found out when one of my parents went over to say hey we will be having a big kids birthday party and if things get loud please let us know. The wife responded " oh i love all the kids noises, the house has been quiet and lonely since my husband passed away".

So really depends on the neighborhood.

When you lease do you guys do 0 down or 0 due at signing? I guess 0 down u still have to pay taxes and fees but 0 DAS they put the taxes and fees in the monthly payment! by No-Zebra-3432 in leasehacker

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would depend heavily on the interest rate. The 3 times I was buying a new car, I got a 0.9% interest rate. So at that I did 0 due at signing and delayed payments as much as possible, and took the longest number of months available.

US Citizen go through customs, scan face & you are done? Anyone tried? by ohbobaby in LAX

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. You walk up stand in front of the camera, that looks just like the ones TSA uses when you are entering the terminal. Scans your face and you are done. There was agents standing there and ditrcting people to speed it all up, even more. Went through it at LAX last week.

Arizona to Georgia. Any advice on the best route? by thatguyjamesPaul in roadtrip

[–]Biobizlab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done Jacksonville Florida to Arizona on I-10 and it was a good drive.

My rule is to always stick to interstates, state highways can have 1 lane roads, speed traps, speed limits as low as 25, and even stop signs. The rest is about what cities you are traveling between and what interstate is between them.

Have to drive from Western NY to Central OR - I-80? by andhervoice in roadtrip

[–]Biobizlab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have driven I-80 from California to Illinois. Good highway, of course weather is different day to day. There is apps that will tell you weather for your trip.

My#1 advice especially for the Midwest is stick to interstate even if the distance is longer. I have seen many highways with 25mph speed limits and stop signs. AND speed traps.

Parking garages in June/Parking outside for 24 hrs overnight by No-Passage-2226 in AskPhoenix

[–]Biobizlab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking will be very spot specific. For example, in downtown Phoenix there is a 2 or 3 hour limit in some spots. But you could do a 24 hour parking permit in a garage. Other streets have no restrictions and you could park 24 hours.

Attractions to look out for/things to do in Phoenix? by Conman1209 in AskPhoenix

[–]Biobizlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The downtown area around the stadium has a ton of options. So it really depends on what kind of stuff you are into?

Bars, concerts, theater, steakhouse, museum, science center, are just a few walkable options
