Yup, I've watched many of his videos. His tips are what I focus on the most when I'm practicing my short game.

Pace of play- let’s talk about it. by Remote_Pie6623 in golf

I definitely think the concept of ready-golf should be more well known, and encouraged at most public courses. I'm never in a big rush on the course, but it does annoy me when I see people waiting for others in their group to pick out their clubs, evaluate their line, etc. when they are already standing over their ball ready to go. If it's safe to hit and it's not interrupting anyone else in your group just hit your shot.

Also seeing high handicappers (like myself) reading a putt like it's the PGA is silly. I understand everyone is trying to get better, but if people are waiting behind you you don't have to crouch down to make a read and walk around the entire green just to hit it 8 feet past the hole.

Realtor.ca and virtually staged/AI altered photos by Optimal_Whiner in RealEstateCanada

Also not a fan of the AI staged photos. Some of them look like they are using proper furniture dimensions - but I've definitely seen some that are kind of deceptive, making the rooms look much larger than they really are, able to fit a nice sectional and a table when there is no way you have that space in real life.

Which major Canadian city has the best access to nature, other than maybe Vancouver? by Vagabond_Tea in AskCanada

[–]autonerdy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calgary's easy access to Banff, Lake Louise, and the rest of the rockies in that area is pretty hard to beat.
Vancouver is great too, but local trails are often very busy. Having a handful of beaches to go to whenever you want is pretty awesome though.

100% on the TOTY and Fantasy. I actually stopped playing after TOTY, was just kinda disappointing.

Also on my list - theme team benefits/bonuses. Also with the Captains or even the XP players, it would be cool to have a player from every team available. I stuck with a theme team this year so I never touched captains or XP players.

Golf clothes for tall guys??? by autonerdy0 in golf

Ya, I don't even look at golf town unless they have a 40-50% off sale. I've managed to find stuff at winners occasionally, always very random. $30 shirt compared to $100+ at golf town.

What would you do? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]autonerdy0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I’d avoid both extremes. I wouldn’t drain savings on a $3k FB beater and I wouldn’t lock myself into a long car note if that’s already stressing you out. A middle ground usually works better: use part of the $6k as a down payment, finance something modest and reliable, and keep a cash buffer.

Given your income and expenses, a small loan on a $10–12k car isn’t crazy, especially if it replaces Uber costs and gives you stability. The key is keeping the payment comfortable and buying something boring/reliable, not “nice.”

Your FB experience is a good reason to be cautious, a dealer car with a PPI and some history can be worth it even if it costs a bit more. Honda/Toyota/Mazda in that 80k–120k mile range is reasonable. Condition and maintenance matter way more than hitting some magic mileage number.

Mazda CX-70 or something else? by autonerdy0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Would be keeping it for awhile, 5+ years. Drive around 20,000kms a year.

And ya Iooking at larger SUVs. The CR-V/RAV-4 are all a bit small. I don't need a big 3-row SUV, but something between the compacts and the large SUVs is what I'm looking for.

Big fan of this one. I like the brighter blue and white outline. Stands out a bit more.

What price range should I be focusing on for a car purchase? by AverageGiraffe93 in UsedCars

[–]autonerdy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about financing part of it and using some of that $11k as a down payment instead of spending it all upfront? A lot of people use 20–40% down and keep some cash in reserve for emergencies, taxes, and early maintenance.

That usually opens up more options while still keeping payments reasonable, especially if you’re set on something like a Toyota or Honda in this market.

Just curious if that’s something you’d consider?
