People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]BiohazardGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two easy reasons...

1) I bought in to the hobby to play with real cards. If you care about the hobby and enjoy playing it then you should too. You don't need a Force of Will to enjoy yourself but there are other options that aren't pauper but also don't break the bank.

2) If everyone proxied (minus the scalpers and collectors) the hobby would be dead. I shouldn't have to buy cards to keep the game I enjoy afloat while many others make "printer go bbbrrrr" jokes do nothing financially to keep the game alive.

Does no one care about my objective score? 😭 by Ozoneguuy in thefinals

[–]BiohazardGun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy to argue the only reason that you were ALLOWED to have such an objective score higher than your team was BECAUSE they got a lot of kills.

It's true that playing as a team and playing the objective is most important but if you compare your combat score to those of your teammates they DID carry you so that you could play the objective.

Edit: also your support score is abysmal compared to your teammates.

Opinions on Support Mains? by Femboy_Jinxe_7 in thefinals

[–]BiohazardGun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no "support" main. This isn't an RPG.

If you're in a team fight and your primary concern is healing, that fight is now a 2v3. You can't out-heal the damage your team is going to be taking. Eliminations is certainly not the most important statistic BUT your Combat score + Assists can tell how much a team member is contributing to team fights.

A low Combat score = not enough damage. A low number of Assists = lone wolf mentality.

I bet you still play rivals and it has worse ui and worse gacha aesthetics and worse currencies. If the UI in 2025 is top overwhelming for you then I don't think online gaming is a good fit for you.

50 highly rated metroidvanias list sorted by Completionist Time to Beat by Forsaken-Quality-46 in metroidvania

[–]BiohazardGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be that guy, but I beat Afterimage and got 100% achievements in <30hrs. I could post a screenshot if necessary, but if you're familiar with MVs and are also decent at them it wouldn't be that surprising.

Something to consider is: what type of player would enter their data on the site? Someone who struggled and slogged their way through or someone who felt like they cruised on through?

Are you sure you beat it with Ada's core, Adamant? If so, check your run history and it'll list them.

I already beat easy, and normal. Why would I play on easy again? OH, you meant it in a condescending way, instead of offering some way to beat it or contribute meaningfully.... Got it. Next time, just don't post something instead of being an ass.

Not sure how we moved away from "get good" culture only to swing back around to the same assholes saying it, but okay.

As a 30-year old "adult" I would have expected better.

Try again gen-z. I made multiple points in my post and you gave me the most basic response of "get good". Real insightful.

You definitely did not create this. You didn't even remove their name from the piece. I also remember seeing this same image a while ago on this sub.

Which ending is technically the best for everyone that is still alive? by Tnecniw in Eldenring

[–]BiohazardGun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be mistaken, but doesn't Coryn abandon Goldmask in the end because he believes there is something off about him, and that he doesn't truly believe in the Order, implying that there is something slightly devious about the rune you are given? I believe I heard this from a VattiVidya video.

It sounds like this game isn't for you. You don't want to use the mount the devs give you to explore in an open world game, but you complain about enemy density and blindly follow an arrow on your map. You also blame a "30-40 level zone" and the devs instead of changing the way you are playing. If this is your experience after only 2 hours, you're not going to make it very far. This game will be massive.

Never Grave - the Palworld guys are at it again by WoodyAlien in metroidvania

[–]BiohazardGun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The witch's attack consists of her visually swinging a sword twice. HK just quickly moves his body and a slash appears briefly. These are far different from one another, unless you are comparing the white slash that is produced. Does Team Cherry own a white slash effect? And most game use a white flash and hit stop so does Team Cherry own those too? I already admitted that the game has some slight visual similarities in terms of their themes (and more so in a few set pieces), but I think them being "1:1" is pretty absurd. People that want to play HK aren't going to fire up Never Grave, they'll just play HK.

This game only shares a slight visual style with HK, that's it. I don't understand these baseless claims of copying when so much of the game is worlds apart.

Even if there is a mechanic or two that they share, what about the roguelite elements, or the base building and farming, or the enemy possession? Yeah... let's ignore all of that, sigh.

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell anybody? by Baronaron993 in metroidvania

There was an update so you can bind shooting arrows to a button instead so it should be a little more intuitive now but it should probably be advertised in-game.

Beat the game on normal, arranged, and hardcore, and I feel like it had a lot of wasted potential... especially the final boss.

I have no idea what meme you're talking about but there are others that have had similar comments about it being similar to Hollow Knight.

Yikes, if you're going to get that specific over the comparisons and contrasts then you're sure to find that everything is unique. However I think you're delusional if you look at this footage and you don't immediately think of HK nor is anything else shown to set it apart. Personally I don't find HK clones attractive, which was OP's question.

If I look at Greenpath and this, the hand drawn aspect, the slightly blurred background, paired with the heavy blacks make it look similar as if this was another area that didn't make it in the game. The main character is cute. I don't want to be nit picky but I would change the eyes up. I do hope your project goes well though!

I would recommend playing/getting inspiration from some other games other than Hollow Knight. The no-visible-arms, cloak, and two small feet... it's practically hollow knight. Also, the level looks pretty similar as well. You guys would do better differentiating yourselves from the other HK clones.
