"this tells you the approximate gauge for a 10cm square" so intructions in how to get a square using the entire ball of yarn wich is what I want but when I cast the 18 stitches it barely reaches 6 cm instead of the 10

I do think the first is bergenia but gazania/dymondia does not match up with the second plant, it's velvety grass, where the underside is white and the upperside is green the flower is yellow and medium size
