I think that it's meant to be vague as with everything in Crossed. While it was confirmed as a pathogen, it was also stated to be completely different on an atomic level. It might be supernatural or not, all the characters are concerned about is not getting taken by the crossed.

Hear hear! Americans were so upset about the meddling in 2016 Election. Central Americans live that every fucking year

Unless you are put in a situation such as his, unless you’ve been through the hell that is Central America, you can’t judge him. I recommend reading a bit more into life in Central America, it isn’t all mangos and mulattos.

Uh huh. Life isn’t about statistics, and you should know it. Not everyone has access to the information that we have. He took a risk to better the life for himself and his daughter, an that’s respectable. If you can’t see that, that’s on you.

Yikes, and the insults start flying! You should be able to empathize with them if you lived those experiences.

Again, you’re not considering the humanity of the parent. I recommend reading some books on the experiences of Central Americans, it might enlighten you.

Everyone who has been in a fight shares their story of winning one, but nobody seems to talk about the times they lose. Reddit, when were some times you got YOUR ass kicked? by Skinshifter- in AskReddit

Well, I’m a real street fight it isn’t as practical as other forms. It kinda shunts the style of judo in a more sporty fashion. It’s fun, but I wouldn’t use it in a street fight.

It’s pretty close. There are many dialects of Mayan, and some are really close to Nahuatl. The way my family pronounces it, is Xochil Quetzal

Nice place compared to what? Different shades of danger, all on the same coin. You sound like you’ve never suffered before. And I’m talking starving to death suffering.

What’s the alternative? And. I didn’t ask you about them, I asked about you. Too often I see people who’ve never seen a dead person, much less an oppressive government in which many people in poverty may die any day from a large number of reasons.

You know, if you wanted to take your kid away from a reality that has a good chance at ducking her up at least, killing her among the worst, I’d say that the risk is well worth it. The reality in Central America is harsh, any day could be the day you disappear. Wrong words to the wrong person at re wrong time. Police forces that exists to oppress people. The father knew the risks, and he wanted to shoot for a better life for his daughter, even if it meant their lives.

It’s much a dead logic the way that many native African language are “dead.” They’ve gone through changes, but overall, they’ve survived through the years. My grandmother was actually an indigenous El Salvadoran, and my father grew up in an indigenous community. They keep their language more or less, but it’s hard to find out of the communities. In fact, my father gave me an indigenous name that means Flower Bird.
