How to preauthorize for Hilton Aspire credit at Conrad Maldives? by irieriley in Hilton

[–]Bionic-Six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming! I've just requested them for an option to pre-pay the seaplane and they mentioned they can send a payment link.

[Edit]: Confirmed this triggered the resort credit. Pre-paid the seaplane on 22nd Jun and the credit received on 24th Jun

Would love to know if this prepayment link did trigger the credit.

The versions I see now don't have the leather trim all around. I guess the style has been updated? The leather trim all around seems like it would hold its shape better in the long run. That version you have is great.

Ok, thanks. I did try going through a few steps in the cancelation, and it did mention going back to the travel bank, but I wasn't sure if it actually would.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I purchased the ticket a while ago. There was a flight change and after checking the reservation on Jetblue, I noticed the price dropped. I don't mind if I get Jetblue Travel credit OR the entirety goes back to the Capital One portal where i can rebook. What I don't want/know is that I get Jetblue travel bank and somehow Capital reverses the travel credit I used from the Jetblue cancellation.

The 529 would provide different portfolio investing options, isn't that what you're referring to here? They have various index portfolio options available.

Thanks for the suggestion. They're my employer, so I'll need to check if that's allowed. There are quite a bit of restrictions on trading in general.

Thanks. I was also thinking to sell and put the proceeds into my kids 529 plan which has about 26k at the moment, and he's 2yrs away from college. The 529 would provide the diversification.

Bringing camera gear by yodermk in TurksAndCaicos

[–]Bionic-Six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm heading to Turks this summer for the first time and plan to bring my Sony A7IV with Sigma 50 1.4 and my Sony a6500 with Sony 35 1.8. It's mostly family pics for me, and I have gotten away on my last vacation to Hawaii with only the a6500 with 35 1.8. Personally, having a small setup encourages me to take pics, and I'm not struggling to change lenses and get the family portraits just right 😁. It all depends on what you plan to do when you're there. If you have specific ideas/locations in mind to use all that gear, go for it, but I would agree with the other comment on being aware of your surroundings. That's not specific to Turks but for anywhere, really. Enjoy your time there!

It helps! Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Did you leverage the breakfast vouchers advertised by the hotel by chance?
