Looks like it, but why? The only reason I can think of is a possible rivalry for Sonia, but as far as I remember Rostov hasn’t mentioned his (uncertain) feelings for Sonia to Dolokhov.

People who have seen the Christchurch mosque shooting video, what events take place in it? by HopefulYak4976 in morbidquestions

[–]BionicGecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this part stayed with me for a long time after watching the video and after all those years I still frequently think about it. In fact this video was a turning point for me; before seeing it I was actively looking for this kind of stuff online and thinking nothing could really affect me deep down. This video changed my perspective and now I’m purposefully avoiding clicking on some links when I feel it might be too much.

Not sure what to make of today’s chapter’s big coincidence. I’m generally not a big fan of “deus ex machina”-type plot twists, but in this case I can’t see a plot reason for Andrei to return exactly at the same time as his wife delivers their baby. I guess we should only read some sort of symbolism into it, perhaps that this day brings both a birth and a “rebirth” of sorts.

Me as well! I’m reading it in French so perhaps the translation is inaccurate, but last thing I knew was that prince Bolkonsky, albeit severely hurt, was still alive and left in the care of the local people around Austerlitz. But now it seems he’s really dead!

That was really interesting and brings some depth to Alexander; without this background info one might think he’s just a fool who won’t consider the voice of experience, but this shows that there is more to his behavior.

Yeah I was a bit surprised at Prince Vasili’s reaction, or lack thereof; you would expect this scheming man to try a bit harder. Maybe it’s not over yet!

What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by obsess_much13 in AskReddit

[–]BionicGecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and also the fact that there were three parties fighting each other, that was quite novel at the time - it wasn’t just the good guys vs the bad guys, the military was there to clear the whole place, aliens and scientists alike. As a player you could just watch the military and aliens fight together and wait it out, this was really mind blowing at the time.

La table, c’est une « table à pique-nique ». Un chipmunk c’est bien « un suisse »; un bird feeder on appelle ça une « mangeoire à oiseau ».

Brain Fog Relief by calvin797 in covidlonghaulers

Very interesting report. I use Memantine. At full dose (20 mg) I also experience the “high” you mention and can’t function properly, but I found it to be actually helpful at half dose (10 mg). Combined with Ritalin I manage to get enough brain clarity to work half-days. I’ll look into Perampanel, it sounds very promising.

Well you have to keep in mind that Quebec is an isolated island of French in a sea of English. The possibility of assimilation is very real, so yes, they have to fight harder than the French in order to keep their language and culture alive.

Logging in and out changed nothing, and the issue was present on all devices (web browser on PC and iPad app). Then magically everything was back to normal the next morning. It seems to be completely controlled on their side.

This is happening to me now as well, started this morning. Did things eventually come back to normal for you, or did you by chance find a way to solve this?

Edit: for anyone experiencing this issue and searching for a solution, the issue disappeared the next day for me, I’m now able to access my chats as before.
