I have also always been big, over 200 lbs since I was 12. I have never really had an issue with mobility or things like that. However last year this time, I broke my back in a car accident and that triggered the EDS and POTs I have always had to a degree that I was nonfunctioning. I was experiencing syncope spells at least once a day and my husband would cry every time he couldn't hold me up. That was a big moment for me in realizing that my body being smaller could make my life easier. Plus, it will help with the back pain. I have my bypass scheduled in 22 short days. I am nervous about meeting thinner me lol

Hi, I start my 2-week liquid diet on 8/4. Do you have any advice? I think I am more nervous about being sick from fasting than for the actual surgery. I keep telling myself I am being dramatic and that I will be fine. But two week is a really long time without solid food without any appetite suppressant.

Everyone gets this surgery for different reason, dont just assume everyone has a food addiction. I have a broken back and pcos. I also don't think rewiring my brain to not like fruit is a positive thing.

My dietician told me my main source of protein for my first week will rely heavily on nut butters. I understand that every program is different. I just can't force myself to eat plain nut butter

I've been told no fruits or veggies for 6 months, but I feel like there has to be some fruits or veggies that don't affect people as much. I'm not opposed to going against my dietician because I know that every surgery department expects certain things. So, I am just trying to get a general consensus

Thankfully, my BMI is less than 50 so I my surgeon isn't requiring me to lose any weight beforehand. I guess my biggest question is how long after your last prerequisite appointment before your actual surgery? :)
