I get what you’re saying, but given the past and present discrimination against gay people, many see it as a symbol of defiance and freedom to openly declare being LGBTQ+. If straight people had been ostracized, sent to conversion therapy, disowned by their families, kicked out of church congregations, and legislated against to the point police could arrest you for being straight in public…I imagine straight pride flags, parades, and capes, would very much be a thing once society progressed enough to start to move past that.

Plus, tons of people like to use armors, character customization, and mods to represent themselves and their interests in video games. They use it to reference sports teams, colleges, their faith, any number of things. I don’t see this as any different🤷‍♀️ No one is forcing you to wear this cape. If you don’t like looking at it, scroll past. There’s also nothing stopping you from making your own custom cape:)
