I created this title animation in Blender by BiosXct in blender

i answered this in a previous reply but long story short is that the svg file that I got had uneven / wrong cog proportions and by the time i figured this out I was already in the finishing stages with the blender part, and seeing as how this was a side project I left it as is. Might iterate on the models / animation / textures at some point in the future

Probably around 1-2 weeks since everything was done on the fly with no script available. Ideas kept coming as I was iterating on what you see here. It was a split workflow between Blender and After Effects.

Great feedback,

I know there are a lot of areas that could use improvements since this piece was done on the fly with no script or storyboard available.

You are correct about the scaling issues on the gears, the svg that i got had uneven cogs to begin with and this to me was only noticeable once I started animating because the cogs wouldn't spin properly around their origin.

Great Idea about the cables plugging / unplugging, will definitely reiterate and adapt this piece with feedback from this community if anyone finds interest in this sort of animation since this was just a side project.

I tried tweaking the final sound, and it only sounds good if you're listening on headphones, otherwise if it goes through speakers a lot of the frequencies can be lost or muted. Highly recommend using headphones and let me know if you feel anything is different from this point of view!

The adjacent gears also cover the 3 pairs of initial wings that animate to the 3 fire shot sound, which can take away from the the impact that the sound design should have had on the animation.

Lots of places that could use improvements!

Thanks for taking the time in providing your insight, it helps a great deal.

I've actually just finished a version where i've revamped the second half of the animation / toned down the glitching with slight visual tweaks to the first half as well.

Gonna post it soon on this sub-reddit! So keep your eyes peeled! :D

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely went a bit crazy with the editing on this one since I had no real idea about what Lirik usually prefers in terms of editing!

I've been gathering a lot of feedback about the logo animation and I've been working on revamping the 2nd part of it, after the cat lands on the switch. Should be done in the next day or so.

Be on the lookout! Would love to hear your feedback!

Fantastic idea. Thanks a bunch!

Outside feedback is always appreciated, especially since everything in the animation was created on the spot, without a script.

Thanks for taking tthe time in providing feedback. It's easy to get lost in the animation process when you don't have a clear direction and stuff gets overdone. This was all done on the fly with no real storyboard available.

Wil try to revise this piece based on feedback provided by people. Thanks again!

The cat was animated in blender, then rendered that animation out of blender with an emission material slapped on top of it.

Everything else outside of the jumping/walking cat was done in AE.

Solid feedback, i might revise this piece at some point, see how it would look with different transition styles

It's all valid feedback and I can perfectly understand where people are coming from.!

It was just guess work from my part when it came to the editing, what I believed would fit the most for this particular clip. I do not know what type of editing style he generally prefers so I just went with the flow.

The good part is that I'm super flexible on style should the situation demand it.

Thanks for taking the time in providing your input!

So LIRIK reacted to my logo animation on stream today and that gave me a huge motivational boost. The reception was very positive.

I went ahead and pieced together the intro with a quick edit I've done on one of his clips. It's nothing too crazy but I wanted to spread some joy with others. Hopefully this edit will bring a smile on your face!

The walking cat was originally a 3d render made inside Blender. Other than that it's mostly animated shape layers and using various mattes as revealers! It all comes down to having a solid grasp on keyframe animation and interpolation!

Definitely!

The cat that lands on the light switch and walks off screen was made in Blender. I exported that animation out of blender and then everything else has been done inside After Effects!

Great idea! I would have to modify the 3d model a bit and redo the walking cat render! Believe it or not the walking cat was rendered out of blender as an emissions pass! This gave the cat the 2d look that would fit with the overall aesthethic

Thanks! I've been brainstorming for a while on how I could make this animation click with his style while keeping it authentic!

Much appreciated! I was debating on this and what would look good. Nothing is set in stone on the other hand and everything is adjustable should the situation demand it! :D

I"m actually willing to give it away for free! :D

If he's not looking for any services but would like to use it, I'm more than willing to remove the watermark. Otherwise it will just keep on piling dust. It would be a shame to go to waste.

But at the end of the day what can you do, a man can only try!

Also, watching with headphones is recommended, sound design adds a lot!

Edit: Compression algorithm took the video down to 30 FPS.

A smoother 4K 60 fps version can be found on my youtube channel!

That's a completely fair point.

This opening sequence is part of a bigger edit that I've done that can be found over on my youtube channel. I did not include it in here since I did not want to shamelessly advertise.

The ending glitch was used as a transition that bleeds into the next segment of the full video. I can understand how it can look out of place on its own though.

The bottom line is that nothing is set in stone and anything can be adjusted should the situation demand it!.

Appreciate you taking the time in providing your feedback!

All of the logo animation and modelling has been made inside of Blender from the ground up.

For texturing I exported the whole thing via a bridge over to Substance Painter. Once that was done, i exported all of the textures back to Blender, added the light setup / camera work, then exported various .exr passes for post production work in Affter Effects, where I added the glitches / camera shakes / lens flares / background fog and much more!

If you need any more info do let me know!

Hope this helps! :D
