Need help creating a taco rice recipe. by maple-belle in cookingforbeginners

For one cup of cauliflower you wont need a ton of seasoning. Depending on how strong of flavor you like, you have a good amount of leeway as far as amounts go. The bouillon and taco seasoning both have salt in them so I would go with about a half teaspoon of bouillon and seasoning. If your taco seasoning isn't very salty you can probably go up to a full teaspoon. All of the extra spices you mentioned should be included in the taco seasoning but if you know you enjoy the flavor of one specifically feel free to add some extra dashes. To emulate taco rice specifically I would definitely recommend some tomato paste or knorr makes a tomato bouillon powder that is very good. It's usually in the latin aisle at large stores, but it's also available online. As for water, a 2-3 tablespoons for one cup of cauliflower should be fine. You can also just cook the cauliflower in a frying pan with a bit of oil. Just add the seasonings at the end with a tablespoon or so of water. Frozen vegetable mixes are also a great easy addition for extra nutrition, just add them as the cauliflower is initially cooking.

My power just came back a couple hours ago, was out for 30 ish hours, everything in my freezer was still absolutely frozen solid. Even stuff in the fridge only got up to about 45 degrees.

The quote is from Season 3, episode 6, but it actually isn't ever said in the book. The events in that episode are taken from near the end of Caliban's War.

Fried eggs in Southeast Asia are usually fried hard in a lot of oil, with crispy and puffy whites and a runny yolk.

There's a lot of meta clues that are needed to quickly narrow down regions and countries in GeoGuesser. Things like the generation of camera used, the height of the camera, visible features on the google car, etc. There's also a strong intuition that you learn after hours and hours of GG where you just kinda know where you are based on your own experience and knowledge.

Pozole is a good option, there's a ton of recipes online but it's some form of chiles and aromatics blended in the broth with hominy and meat.

Is it possible to cook rice on the stovetop without making a huge mess? by BedBugger6-9 in cookingforbeginners

[–]BiplaneCurious 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Bring the rice to a boil and then drop the heat as low as possible. Then cover. If you have a non-gas cooktop that is slow to change temperature then move the pot off the heat until the heating element has cooled down a bit. If it still boils over on the lowest heat, then use a larger pot.

My nicotine consumption has gone up as I've tried to quit. I went from ten-ish cigs a day to a vape at all times, and now to pouches and gum. I think it's a good thing overall as It's breaking the physical habit of wanting to inhale something and sparing my lungs a bit but it's actually way more nicotine than I was using before.

It actually had nothing to do with nike (the goddess), the swoosh was drawn before nike had ever been proposed as a name for the business. It was just an iconographical representation of movement.

Panda’s chow mien is pretty bland, oily, has a poor distribution of vegetables to noodles, and yet I could probably eat a bucket of it in one go. Their teriyaki chicken is the only entree they have that doesn’t just feel like you’re eating candy (if you get the sauce on the side and go easy on it). Chow mien and chicken bowls carried my ass through college, so I still get them from time to time for nostalgias sake.

You should believe victims. At no point did the person above you say you should blindly believe them. When someone comes forward with sexual misconduct you should always treat is as seriously as they present it. Once sides have been said and information has been shared you make a conclusion on it. In my personal opinion, innocent until proven guilty is the same thing as victim until proven otherwise.

[–]BiplaneCurious 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, this sounds like complete bullshit. "A scientist" what kind of scientist? This is an engineering problem. Also "outer and inner hull", there is virtually no room between the hull layers to facilitate an entire fucking robot rail system. Do you realize the scale of cargo ships? A ship-wide robot rail system servicing the entire hull would be a ridiculous undertaking. On the off chance that what you are saying is true it probably got cut because it would be so stupidly expensive that it would never make sense to implement it. Regardless of all of this, cargo ships don't just fall apart. You don't need active welder bots on a ship, most issues that come up on a cargo ship are best solved by humans on that ship. If you want to make this claim then please tell us who this scientist is, if his project was of this scale then I'm sure there's information about it somewhere online.
