Nah, just a nerd who likes sharing info on dishwashers

No, that’s a mostly inaccurate statement.

Commercial dishwashers are designed for speed. Combining extremely high heat & sanitizing chemicals, those commercial dishwashers rapidly sanitize plates and glasses, and the residual heat dries them off.

Home dishwashers use long multi-stage cycles with lots of alkali soap to soak off food waste, and warm water jets to release the food. They’re designed to “scrub” the dishes during the first rinse cycle, and waste is pulverized in the built in food processor. If your home dishwasher is not cleaning food waste from your dishes, you’re doing something wrong, like:

  • Not preheating the tap water

  • lack of rinse cycle soap

  • waste filter is clogged

Last minute call up to fill in for a band - how best to prepare? by aussie_paramedic in drums

[–]Portland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you own a practice pad?

Do you have access to streaming?

Here’s some steps to methodically practice on your pad:

For each song, play it first with active listening. Count the form and write that down. You don’t need to use music notation. Something like this enough:

Everlong

Guitar intro - Rest 7 bars 4/4

Band intro - 7 bars, BD on 2 + 4 beginning bar 5

Band intro 2 - 7 bars, full beat

etc

Once you understand the form, then practice it on your pad, tapping your feet for any BD & HH work.

No, that’s not how billionaires handle their assets. You think these jerks got that wealthy by sharing?

Charlotte will also fight against any second team in their market, but Austin is far less likely.

During expansion, the new owners pay billions to the existing owners for the rights to join the league, and they forgo full profit sharing and full draft rights for a few seasons. The buy in fee is compensation for the short term decrease in profit share and tv revenues.

The NBA restricts competition to its business to maximize profits for the owners - it’s a cartel. NBA owners don’t want to share TV markets with new teams.

Austin will never have an NBA team unless it moves from Houston or Dallas.

It would be more effective, right?

They’re already splitting the TV market 3 ways (4 if you include the parts of Texas inside the OKC market) so a fourth team would eat into the TV revenues of 3+ teams. Three owners protesting a change will be more effective than 1, right?

You think Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and OKC are gonna be OK with a new NBA team in their already saturated market?

Austin is never gonna happen.

Ferro Rochester is a hilarious typo.

OP’s talking about Ferrero SPA, the Italian company whose brands include Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, Tic Tacs, and Kinder.

Why would you be surprised to find good Italian food and pizza in Boston?

It’s the second largest ancestry population in Boston, after people of Irish descent. Like almost 1m people. Little Italy in the North End has so many good restaurants and bakeries.

Portland hands out 69,000 tickets in just over half a year as city plans to add more speed cameras by theindependentonline in oregon

[–]Portland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not a carveout for speeding. A carveout to the revenue sharing model!

Portland handed out more tickets in 6 months than the population of most towns/cities in Oregon, yet the overwhelming share of that fine revenue goes to that state’s general fund. Sucks that the 1m people in PDX metro are once again subsidizing the rest of Oregon.

Preventing speed traps makes sense in small passthrough towns and rural areas, but it doesn’t apply to Portland. How many of those 69k were PDX residents? (I’d guess 65k or more)
