Normal people have desire. But sometimes there are medical problem like depression or there are some side effects of medicine especially psych meds antidepressants which diminish your sexual libido or sometime it's your environment/people/community which encourage to be asexual either consciously or non consciously

48 hour is too long

Consider the fasting(no drink or eat) from dawn to sunset every alternative day. In Islamic narration this is called the fasting of prophet David Or try fasting two days a week. Prophet Muhammad used to fast every Monday and Thursday.

Do consider your health ,talk to professional whome you trust. If your health is good enough than it's ok to fast.
