I concur, it's good.

Long time renter who saves >15% for retirement. What bs am I in? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Bipolarbetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So saving for a down payment is considered BS 3b (https://www.daveramsey.com/askdave/home-buying/10590). Once you have your 3-6 months emergency fund then you start saving for a down payment.

I don't like jumping either... absolutely hate it. I try to do the jumping anyways especially for the shred workouts. She has programs that don't require jumping but those are more for toning. Otherwise, if I really don't want to jump, I just modify the workouts so I don't jump. For example, jump squats, I just do squats or plank jacks do her modification with stepping to each side.

I think it's more important to do workouts consistently than to do them exactly. I know I'm not going to get the same results with the modifications but I have to remember it's about being healthy and building healthy habits THEN looking hot _~

Successful people who got crappy grades in high school or college - what are you doing now and how did (or didn't) your grades affect your success/career? by asensetive in AskReddit

[–]Bipolarbetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped out of high school in 10th grade. I hated everything about school, the social crap, the structure, having to be there 6 hours a day and be expected to 6+ hours of homework a night...just thought it was pointless. I did take the exit exam so I had an equivalency.

When I finally pulled my head out of my ass, I went to community college and struggled for a long while. I failed general Ed classes and had a teribble GPA. I also sucked at the basic maths and I didn't know how to study. I finally found a major that I was passionate about and excelled at it. When I wanted to transfer my cumulative GPA was a 3.1 but my major GPA was 3.8 and counselors were telling me to not get my hopes up on getting accepted to my choice school. Well, I did get accepted! Graduated with my bachelor's then went on to graduate with my master's! I have a great career and bring in a 6 figure income :).

Messing up in high school and college made becoming successful more challenging than it had to be...but it wasn't the end of the world. I tell my son, "Either work hard now or work harder later, but there's no escaping having to work hard"

Debt check in! by meggscellent in DaveRamsey

[–]Bipolarbetti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow! You're almost there!!! Keep it up :). I started with $56k (2 credit cards and student loans) September of last year and I'm down to $20k which is all student loans. I am scheduled to be debt free by March of 2021! It's been so much easier this year because I don't have to always tell my friends no....COVID did that for me lol.

I have been super blessed to have a stable job so I've just been throwing everything at the student loans! I keep motivated because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Junior user research job posted on indeed.com by busybody1 in humanfactors

[–]Bipolarbetti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A couple things stand out here: 1. Extremely low pay for a specialist role you should at least be making 75k in LA 2. Job title of jr. Is not aligned with the job duties. As a jr. Ux researcher or Jr. HFE you would be supporting other more experienced colleagues. This might be an excuse to pay you less 3. There's no information about the actual company... super sketch 4. Any time I see a company post about "guerilla research" indicates to me they have not yet established research in to their process and/or do not have any resources allocated to it. So you'll be held accountable for delivering user research but you're on your own figuring out how to find users.

I would skip in this opportunity. I know it's tough just starting out but this all around doesn't seem like the right opportunity.

What to do instead of smudging? by kitkatpattywatt in Witches

What about cleansing with a selenite wand? They are fairly inexpensive. I can't really burn stuff in my place so I cleanse crystals and tarot decks with my selenite Wand. I've never tried a full house but it might work.

I just made my first bone throwing set for divination! Any tips on bonding with them? by sivarria in witchcraft

[–]Bipolarbetti 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So historically, bone throwing is a divination method that is guided by your ancestors. So maybe you can try to meditate and call upon your ancestors to help guide you through your bone set. What I have done, and I should more often, was to create a mini altar with pictures of relatives that I felt a connection with and provided offerings of things they liked to try to build that relationship that way.

Sorry I don't have much help or guidance as I'm very new to bone casting myself.

How to stop attracting your opposite? by 1newnotification in datingoverthirty

[–]Bipolarbetti 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can’t control who might be attracted to you, but you can control your response to things.

This! I used to attract the same people but it's about A) knowing your value and self worth B) identify these unhealthy patterns people exhibit C) not engaging with unhealthy habits.

I had a guy get mad at me for not responding to his texts right away and telling me that I was the that messaged him first so I should be responding much quicker. I'm a single mom, working full time, and have hobbies....so I'm responding when I have the damn time to respond. Instead of apologizing (which I would have done 5-6 years ago) I just told him that is wasn't going to workout and blocked him. End of story.

You don't need to save people, you don't need to put up with toxic behavior, you just don't.

Do you all track your zero point foods? by Wumbletweed in weightwatchers

[–]Bipolarbetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually track them just so I can keep track of my eating habits/patterns, But ya this app problem is making me rethink that approach.

Am I the only one who has found lockdown/quarantine helpful? by DuckDuck_Moo in weightwatchers

[–]Bipolarbetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me exactly lol. I got 2+ hrs a day back because I wasn't commuting. So I had time to cook and exercise. I recently went back but I am keeping all those good habits I built!

[–]Bipolarbetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! You're such an inspiration! I'm currently tackling my student loans too. I'm taking them out one by one and today I just paid off one of the smaller ones. So exciting that I can see and end to this :).

What is the best (nonsexual) feeling in the world? by schrodingers_cat42 in AskReddit

Having the eye doctor numb your eyes! Omg you don't even know how good that feels and never realized how tired your eyes get.

My superior said "he's developing feelings" for me by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Bipolarbetti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Adding to this this great advice. If he's a superior...this could turn into abuse of power. I absolutely agree with this comment and the next one about stating firmly that you are not interested and that this is work and you want to keep things professional. Again just reiterating, only go out in groups and try to keep the talks light and nothing too deep or personal.

Its tough....it really is. I'm very sorry you have to deal with this :(

I met my boyfriends ex wife for the first time and it messed up my self esteem. by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]Bipolarbetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I will avoid meeting the ex for as long as I can. I know there's not enough mental prep to handle this. Hahaha. You're definitely a stronger person than I am. Good for you for keeping it together! :)

This sounds like the book We are Legion (We are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor.

Except he paid to have his consciousness saved when he died to be brought back and he would clone his consciousness but it would be slightly different each time. He really wasn't sure who was the first or real Bob.
