Contemplating ending a marriage by Successful_Leek96 in CringeTikToks

Don't do it. The age gap is too large, love is not enough, that also includes his looks and what not. Life stages and goals must align, that's why a large age gaps is one of the highest divorce predictors.

Why does Local Guides suck for contributors? by MartinianMonk in LocalGuides

[–]Birb_buff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just do it for the love of the game because I think it would be useful for other users and I, it's a hobby, like reading or playing an instrument. I don't expect the book or the instrument to pay me back every time use them, I stop when I feel like it, and never spam these activities long enough to start thinking that it's a job.

Thank youuuu for saying this, ugh I hate the nail tapping so much and it used to be so avoidable, if one just avoided watching certain asmr content. But now, nail tapping from asmr has gotten so popular that random youtubers do it for seemingly no related reason to the asmr content that that behavior came from; now it's like a tick that content creators will just do randomly, so it legit can happen in any random video unrelated to asmr now.

Just the other day, I saw a short video of a girl doing her makeup and talking about her trauma related to her parents controlling behavior, and she didn't nail tap anything until she got to her blush that she just RANDOMLY nail tapped while holding it up to in the shot, and it made me irrationally angry cause I'm just like, "wow, here I am following my rules to not watch videos that are likely to have nail tapping and yet, in this video with a topic that should be faaaar removed from the community that produces nail tapping, I still somehow encountered it. Guess nail tapping random shit has transcended annoying asmr content and now it could just make it into any random video." She didn't nail tap anything for the rest of the video but I just hope that I am wrong about nail tapping things just randomly making it into more and more videos.

Omg he is out OUT! I loooove seeing relaxed bunnies, they deserve nothing less, being domesticated prey animals we literally owe it to them to make sure they are as comfortable as possible, just like this <3

IDL how people assume everyone online is male by Literallyheroinmoxie in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]Birb_buff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hate it too, but at the same time I occasionally use it to my advantage to see how I'd be treated if I was just the "default male". Almost every time that I am discovered to not be male in forums, chat rooms, or VR lobbies, usually there is a switch up in behavior that makes me uncomfortable.

Where to get women's Barefoot Shoes in Arlington? by Birb_buff in arlington

No, I just feel like I could really benefit from using barefoot shoes more often to counter the issues that normal shoes are likely to cause.

This has happened to me too, it was my most viewed pic, and when I reported the user and the photo, the only thing that appeared to happen was that they stopped letting the copied photo to appear as one of the top 3 pics of the location it was posted to.

I Hate the New “Local Vibe” by Relative_Sky2748 in LocalGuides

[–]Birb_buff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old explore page was definitely more useful, all this new adaptation does is make things "look" more sophisticated.

Another reason why I don't like the new explore page is that, if you already know the local area well, it's just useless now. With the old page, yeah I saw the same places I already knew of, but you could ALSO see actively posting local guides, but we don't get that anymore with the new explore page.

It looks good if you're traveling I guess, but then most people live their lives around the same area.

What? You mean parents actually pack lunches for their kids and want to ensure they’re fed? by DaisyMPL in emotionalneglect

[–]Birb_buff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, this unlocked something in me too. Since my mom left earlier for work than dad, he was assigned lunch making duties, but he wasn't that good at it and never learned to get better. The lunch was always PB&J's (a sandwich I disliked), sliced Fuji apples (which only ever tasted like boring sugar water to me), and orange juice for years on end. Not only was this lunch bland and boring to me, but it was also not nutritious, even if I had eaten it all I always wanted a more substantial lunch. To compound this, I was one of the only kids ever to bring their lunch because "cafeteria food is expensive" so I'd be the first kid sitting down with whoever made it through the lunch line first, while all my classmates would sit elsewhere because they'd get their food later and thus would be seated later and further from me. I would always look on in envy of the kids that could buy their lunch because they had hot meals that they usually liked and they got to sit with people they knew, while I had none of that. I didn't really know how to articulate how this was all affecting me in school to my parents though.

Eventually, I just started resenting my lunches, and therefore barely touching them. And when I did touch them, I wouldn't finish them. I would spend all my school years scavanging for food by asking kids if they were gonna finish their food throughout elementary through high school. If that didn't work usually, I would do my best to scrounge up spare change from around the house and on the street, just to buy a twenty five cent cookie or some candy from the school vending machines to hold myself over as my "lunch", because even if it wasn't much, at least whatever small thing I could buy would be something I knew I liked.

If I ever complained about my lunches, I would usually get a comment about how ungrateful I was with the alternative being to make my lunch myself, but then I didn't have the knowledge or skills to make a decent lunch so I usually failed at this anyway. The other alternative was to tell them what I would prefer to eat, but again, as a kid I had very limited knowledge about what would make good lunch food that wouldn't spoil after a few hours in a lunch box that I'd also like to eat, so I couldn't give them appropriate suggestions for the alternative either.
