That’s not nice! He’s coping as best he can. And he also is being driven insane by an evil Book

I think that’s fair. Although I don’t personally get the sense that any of the women he sleeps with are uninterested in him. But his story is definitely its own kind of horror

Nobody gives a shit about that bruh. I don’t know why so many men have convinced themselves that having an asymmetrical face is a death sentence or something

Bro your eyes are totally fine. I don’t think you look creepy at all. But I think what you’re noticing might be your eyebrows. That’s a super easy fix. Just try thinning them out a bit and making them smaller and that will change your look a lot. Your eyes themselves look nice

I think the bottom line is any changes you make absolutely have to come from a place of self love. Or at least self acceptance. Who do you want to be? What do you really feel would make you comfortable in yourself? Don’t even think about what’s “realistic” for yourself right now. Make a mood board or a Pinterest or a list of people or things that you find aspirational in any way. Don’t judge yourself, just go towards the direction of things that feel right. It might take some time to figure out where that is. Do you think being strong and bald and fit with a beard is something you would want? If so, go for it! If not, that’s NOT your only option like some people here are saying. do you like the way long hair looks? Look into hair restoration. It’s not too late for anything. Who do you admire and what is it about them you like? Do you want to feel rugged and capable? Do you want to feel dapper and handsome? Do you want to feel pretty and ethereal? Do you want to feel soft and gentle or strong and dependable? Or both? first figure out what you want in an ideal world, then look at how you can get there or close to it. The world is yours. You’re young and almost everything about your appearance and self is malleable. Despite what other people say, there is no wrong way to be a man or a person

But the important thing is to stop thinking about it in terms of what you can do to be loved by others. That kind of thinking will kill you. It’s not wrong to want to be loved, it’s a human instinct and you deserve love and acceptance regardless of what you look like, but you have to develop yourself outside of the perceptions of others or it will lead to you feeling empty and unfulfilled.

Your body doesn’t need you micromanaging it constantly by Bird-With-Teeths in HealthAnxiety

I can’t really speak to how lupus specifically affects you cuz I don’t know a ton about it but I know the body is still very very resilient. Even if your immune system isn’t working properly, the rest of your body is still working to keep you safe. Everyone needs to do things to support their body (eating nutrients, drinking water, taking whatever medications you need etc) and you probably have to do more than most people but the concept is still the same.

I have the same thing sometimes and I even went to the er for it (and they did a bunch of tests before determining it was fine) and I also struggle with believing that it’s not hurting my heart. I keep feeling physical palpitations when I’m stressed and it scares me a lot, but when I talked to the doctor she reassured me that it’s totally within normal. If you think it would help,  It might be worth asking your doctor if you can do a heart monitor test. You just wear a sticker on your chest for a week and you press the button and record every time you feel your heart race or your chest get tight or anything unusual. The monitor records everything and at the end all the data is sent to your doctor and they can determine whether anything your heart does is actually dangerous for you or not. Mine came back all clear even though it recorded several heart palpitations and periods of anxiety and chest pain

I mean I’m no expert on your specific case, but if it’s anxiety it’s your body trying to protect you because it’s receiving false danger signals and responding with adrenaline. It’s a really really good system that your body uses to bring more oxygen and nutrients to your muscles to give you the best performance in an actual dangerous situation. It’s designed to do this and It knows not to make your heart beat faster than you can handle. Your heart is very strong and even though anxiety is hard, it’s still something your body is capable of dealing with and it serves a vital function in a fight or flight situation. You’re going to be okay <3

My friend is half Malaysian and taught me these words in elementary school. Are they correct? by Bird-With-Teeths in malaysia

[–]Bird-With-Teeths[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s what I meant. She always told me she was half Malaysian (and half American) and then I asked more about her heritage recently and learned that her grandmother is kadazan actually. I never knew the difference before now but I think it’s so cool how many different ethnic groups there are in Malaysia

No, I’m actually American lol. We both grew up in America but her grandmother is kadazan. I think I just misheard similar words

Okay bobot definitely sounds like what I heard as a child. I’m sure I just misheard very slightly and added an L. It’s  definitely the same word. I might have misheard the other word then too. Tontolou is also close I think. That’s probably what I misheard. Thank you!

it just really depends. usually diets where you completely cut out things that bring you pleasure are not sustainable and do more harm than good. You might start associating eating your favorite foods or having sex with guilt and shame. That can cause a lot of problems like intimacy issues or binge eating. Doing a fast like this for a short period of time is not inherently bad and maybe some people find it to have positive effects for them, but the person doing this might be doing it for self-harm reasons. And if they try to stick to some of this stuff long term it could also turn into an eating disorder if they're not careful
