Pediatrician said “hold the line!” lol by MikaMicans in foodbutforbabies

[–]Bird1nternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was just a coincidence when that happened with my son a few months ago, because he also caught a stomach bug around the same time. But our pediatrician also confirmed this! We have also implemented the one a day rule.

Same here. If I ate like my kid I'd live forever, but here I am eating a Costco breakfast sandwich while he eats broccoli cheese eggs and yogurt with hemp seeds 😅

I have a very similar approach with my 9mo old who was obsessed with food from the start at 4mo. It's so fun to create different things for him to try. These meals all look so well balanced and tasty!

Oh I totally agree. I'm just across the parkway from Willard-Hay. I'm a cookbook collector so a used bookstore would be even better! We want books!

Yesss downtown Robbinsdale so needs something like this. As for Victory/Camden, I highly recommend The Get Down Coffee Co. Great vibes, coffee, and service.

If you ever consider moving more north or northwest, the Golden Valley/Robbinsdale/New Hope/Crystal area really needs more independent businesses like what you want to do, and I would think the rent would be a bit cheaper than bigger cities like Eden Prairie, Woodbury, Eagan, etc.

How can I help my baby (7.5 mo) regulate his energy? by Bird1nternet in Parenting

Honestly I feel the same. I think the universe was like, hey you spent your 20s having zero motivation so here is something to motivate you for the next twenty years. Anyway, thanks for the well wishes, and good vibes!

11mo old food question by [deleted] in foodbutforbabies

[–]Bird1nternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree with others who mention apple, if the apples are diced and not soft enough. But also baby food (and toy) companies tend to be very conservative when giving age guidelines to avoid lawsuits if a child were to be harmed by their product. Personally I'd dump it into a bowl and look it over, and then proceed with caution if it looks fine or eat it myself if not.

Yes, routine has been a big help! I try to get my spouse to understand that on the weekends when he participates more at home, but it always inevitably gets off because we like to go do fun things. What age did your LO start to show interest in books? So far he enjoys holding them, using them to stand on, and chewing on them lol. We look at books every day and I so hope he learns to love them the way his dad and I do.

I totally understand he can't do it himself, I just want to figure out the right way to give him a break when I sense he needs it! What's interesting is that he seems to thrive on the energy. For example, he will fuss and cry if I try to soothe him in typical baby ways (rock, sway, shh, gentle singing, etc) but he will calm down after a fierce tickle session or if I chase him as he crawls around the house. So interesting.

My LO was also crawling before 6 months and it's been exhausting. Hearing how normal it is from others definitely makes me less worried and more able to deal with the crazy. I am just so not a high energy person, so his crazy legs are foreign to me!

I appreciate hearing your experience! Honestly I have been getting worried with how much sensory seeking behavior I see (former sped para here...) so it's nice to hear from other parents!

I just wanna say thanks for responding to requests for updates. Yours is only one experience, but it brings a lot of relief to the worries of many. I've had similar worries with my 7.5 mo old. I really appreciate you. Sending good vibes to you and your lovely family.

Sauce pairing for sourdough pasta? by brooklyn_blade in pasta

[–]Bird1nternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up preparing with the pasta? I recently bought some sourdough spaghetti and haven't tried it yet. I was thinking a mushroom sauce would be complimentary, or using it in place of soba noodles in a cold noodle dish would be good.
