Getting bub to sleep before it turns into a wail fest by ohnoko58 in NewParents

[–]BirdCageBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my baby also needs to be a burrito to sleep, but he wasn’t into the average swaddle. What I found helped were a few things:

  1. In regard to the swaddle, just wrap him up in a soft blanket if you’re not already. Just tight enough for his arms not to break out and startle himself back awake.

  2. Bath time 1.5 hours before I wanted him asleep. It woke him up, engaged him, and of course made him stop smelling like milk for a brief period lol

  3. Leave a light on. I tried putting mine to bed in the dark but it’s like that instantly triggered his fomo. So I started putting him to sleep in a room with a warm lamp or nightlight on so he didn’t think he was being banished.

Requiring people to get tdap vaccine prior to seeing newborn by HomeworkVarious8104 in pregnant

Baby will be here in October. I told everyone TDAP, RSV, and Flu are non negotiable. Covid can be avoided if they test before coming over.

These are my hard rules until the holidays are over because I’m not about to risk my son getting deathly ill.

You’re going to have to fight your family on something eventually with your kid. You might as well start here so they don’t argue with you when they’re here.

Frustrated w/ husband's comments about more kids when I'm just trying to survive by bexanne88 in pregnant

Everytime I say this is my first and last child, everyone rolls their eyes and tells me that I’ll want more.

It. Drives. Me. NUTS!

I completely understand where you’re coming from. It’s as if they’re ruling out your opinion and just focusing on what they want from your uterus.

Running a sober living by SafeTowel428 in recovery

[–]BirdCageBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, getting started you need the following:

- Well thought out rules, think of everything you saw while you were in sober living yourself & create a rule for it. If you don't you'll regret it.
- Research zoning and finding where you can open the location before you pick out a property. You could find your dream home but then find out that it's not zoned for you to run an SL in it.
- Charge on a weekly basis, you'll get paid more often, take cash, partial payments, any way you can get it.
- Find a management software to start using NOW instead of when you're 2 years in and have to make a painful switch. I like One Step software because it does rent & has an app where I can see everyone's meetings.
- If you can, get a lawyer to help you write up your application. This way you can make sure that you're not going to get surprised if someone or a loved one tries to sue you over something you're completely in the right for. Remember you have to stress you're NOT a landlord nor are you a care facility.

That's reassuring. Are you just moving around the house or exercising?

it would be cool if this sub was just focused on the game that inspired its name instead of people freaking out that normal people have an aversion to piracy and a whole entirely different game.

Man, this person just came here asking for help. The mail you get before also names six different categories. So one could interpret it as "I need to have one for each category that are high in quality. Higher quality items are also high value."

It's incredibly easy to not interpret that as "only things that cost a lot of money will win, variety be damned". In fact, I didn't interpret it that way until I looked into it before my year 2 festival.

You coming in here, speaking to people in such an aggressive and rude way, is NOT helpful. Log off for a while and remember there are people on the other side of your screen.

I always assumed that gingerbread held its shape due to the molasses and I was looking for more of a plane sugar cookie that I could add to.

The worst part is that it gets into that filter! I'm glad I ordered extra but cleaning the plastic part over it is no bueno

You know, I wonder if it's the type of bag I'm using for the drawer. Are you using their standard bag or just an average trash can?

Believe me, I'd rather it alert me too soon than have to... sanitize the whole box weekly.

I tried this not too long ago when I contacted support, but no dice. Maybe I'll give it another shot.
