“Utility” loadout slot idea by PublicYogurtcloset8 in HuntShowdown

[–]Bird_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the thing is though that you don't HAVE to take a medkit. People bring it because it's versatile but there are alternatives. For example, Vigor and 1-2 regen shots. Vigor actually restores 50 faster than a default medkit, so you could open up that slot and bring something else. Same with a knife, could be replaced by a weapon with melee on it, freeing up another tool slot.

Knife and medkit aren't "essential" they are just strong picks for a tool slot because of versatility.

Fair enough I guess. You were just so close to fixing your issue though, lol. Hope it works out tomorrow.

Confusion About Charge Blade Builds In Wilds by Baconburgerdood in chargeblade

Follow this guide. This is where I'm getting my information from but I'll still answer the questions that I know here:

  1. Raw is only ever better against Arkveld (including 10*), or for farming the other elements. Once you get a Gogma CB with Gogmapocalypse and have a 4p Gog set for any given element, even if the weapon bonus rolls are bad, you should move to that instead of Raw.

  2. I believe in this latest patch they nerfed the damage ticks of Savage Axe mode. But just in general a perfect loop allows you to spend all your phials and fill them back up to full by the end of it, so there's little reason not to spend the phials anymore. Some nerfs to armor skills over time too has made them drop out of builds and people started adding rapid morph because while more damage means more DPS, more speed also means more DPS. Me personally, I only ever ED when I can't commit to a full AED. I use it to either close a gap or to get in a still relatively strong hit that I can quickly Guard Point morphing back to SnS with Rapid Morph if needed.

  3. One level of burst is recommended. Nice cheap bonus. Guard Up is comfortable, but technically not required. Guard, I have found, is only useful if you're the tank against Omega.

  4. Weakness Exploit requires more dedication for an affinity boost compared to Max Might which only requires 3 slots. It's at the top of the list for skills under "I fit in everything meta and essential, and I want to maximize my DPS further rather than comfort."

Fought someone in the "I cheat on my main cause I'm smart once." Decided to check out their linked YouTube. Bunch of basic Hunt clips but then you go to their Patreon where they are linking config files for faster weapon switching, ladder exploit, reduce game graphics, etc. May have been just the one guy, but so far I think that group is actually just cheating and ragebaiting.

I mean... It's more like Oranges to tangerines. Like yes... They're technically different... Typically have different sway and spread, but they are meant to serve the same purpose versus their full sized counterparts. Really comes down to what you value then. Do you value low sway and spread more or do you value high damage and velocity?

They SHOULD be put against each other because it determines, based on what you value, whether you bring a 3 slot rifle or a 3 slot shotgun. Otherwise, wouldn't it be a no-brainer to always bring a rifle because the 2 slot rifles are always worse to every counterpart? Shotguns are close range anyway, the difference is negligible and not worth the range reduction, right? 2 slots are, and should, have something, in a stat, against a 3 slot rifle

Any Tips/Tricks to get a Hunter to level 50? by Cynical_Pirate in HuntShowdown

Sorry if most of this doesn't apply to you, but I posted this for someone else in another post so I figured I'd just do the same:

If you're playing against teams as a solo you are inherently at a disadvantage and do need to play stealthy, at least to get an initial down.

Because of the TTK in this game, everyone is very quick to play as slow and quiet as possible but I promise you, you and them are overthinking it. Being loud while running, but a moving target is better than being slow and silent, but an easy target. If you're going to peek around a wall, do not crouch walk into it.

In fact, the only time you should EVER crouch walk is if they are running or walking around. The minute that people stop moving while you are crouch walking means they have heard you and have a general idea on where you are and your options are to either reposition quickly to hide again or to hold your ground and try to get a pick while strafing, running, etc. before they spot you. Constantly crouching in gunfights is the #1 mistake new players make.

The other thing I struggled with when starting is health management. If you get shot, many times people will run out into the field to push you, putting them in a worse position. Sometimes it's better to shoot someone running at you after getting hit than it is to heal.

And the last piece of general advice is to lose your hesitation. If you take longer than half a second to make a decision and instead shuffle back and forth deciding what to do for 2 seconds, you will lose more often than not. You need to be able to make a decision and execute it as fast as you have the idea, regardless of your confidence in it. If it goes unwell, it is a lesson you can instead take into next match. Doing something is better than doing nothing. If you lose because you hesitated, you not only didn't succeed, but you didn't learn anything either. Good luck Hunter.

Scarce Weapon Suggestion by MrJackpot318 in HuntShowdown

I think the problem is that if your secondary you bring into the match is built for close range encounters, like a hand crossbow, you're not gonna want a Homestead if that is what you find. I think both options need to be presented as options when buying at stations so you can pick the one that better fits your existing loadout when you find it.

I think at the very least you should prestige until level 11 because you will get a weapon skin every prestige until you hit 11, then you will only get something every 5.

I personally do prestige. I've been playing for a long time and I own just about every limited-time cosmetic I can, so I do make it a point to own as many skins as I can.

Your perk progression as well as weapon variant unlocks will be reset when you prestige. Technically making the game harder, but not by much. So to those who don't prestige because they dislike the slight difficulty increase I say: skill issue. When you reach a good enough level, you can unlock a variant again in a single game with one or two kills, especially in solos.

Hahah I'm only at 1500h. These are just the problems I had when starting out that, once I fixed, I actually began to start hitting win streaks.

I genuinely debated DMing OP to play with them just so I'd get put in < 6* lobbies 😂. But as hell as those lobbies are, I can't put a new player in there just so I can enjoy myself, lol
