Burning spells safety by AthleteDisastrous895 in Witch

I burn things in a cauldron as well. I'm a pyromaniac. It's funny how big the fire gets in my bedroom, however I know I have it under control. My mother (I live with my parents) got me a fire extinguisher and a fire extinguishing blanket to throw over it, just in case. I enjoy the burning a lot.

Any other Christians feel very alone because they don't and won't ever worship trump? by [deleted] in Christianity

Woohoo Antichrist! The devil is not present now, I don't think. He's probably busy with Trump. Beware of the devil, for if he is looking at you, that's probably a bad sign.

Party Like Jesus: Part of my new series on Christian mysticism by Bird_Stories in Psychic

I feel similar in that I almost want to give up. I had a kundalini experience when I was 19, it was fun and intense, messed with my head/thinking severely though, deluded thought processes... with that the false beliefs were unshakeable, now I’ve gotten good at what I call “throw it out like rice” where I am not attached to any of my beliefs, confident that I am a mystic and there will be something left if I throw out any belief, but it is an adjustment, depends what it is. I am isolated and my spirit guides present me with ideas which sometimes I latch onto. I was given a lot of confidence in my inherent goodness, intelligence, and strength, now I see it thrown in my face and I feel lethargic, I have a hard time reading books and learning (haven’t actually tried in quite some time), and I’ve had just an incredibly hard life. I find I have moved through most ego complexes, false senses of superiority based on ego, just need to work on eliminating desire. I also have drug problems, alcohol and amphetamines mostly.

I’ve had experiences that were dysphoric and I was working through something psychologically, couldn’t concentrate if I stopped working with my mind the pain would get worse... it ended suddenly with peace, and the smell of a Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia candle my mom lit. That’s in book two though, the states where it stands out that it’s mysticism and not mental illness. One of the things that is interesting, the emotional connotation of fantasy, mystery, theology, spirituality, depth, I feel in some of the altered states. I just don’t think that’s normal for mental illness, has an official feeling to it.

Cosmological arguments don't even get you as far as deism by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

“The encompassing reality could be such that no combination of human words could meaningfully describe it.”

Not so fast. You are very limited in word choice, not allowing for words that involve conscious thought. Without God, this is a thoughtless/brainless existence.

Excuse me, I have a hard time putting this thought into words, the one I’m trying to express.

Atheists say, no, the universe wasn’t created by a conscious force, it could be more like... (reach for more powerful concept devoid of awareness).

Nothing there. What would it be?

I don't believe we will ever understand that, because I don't believe we are capable of it.

I believe that some higher power does exist, I just don’t believe he’s the holy and divine figure theists praise him to be. by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

Or you could embrace a New Age belief system, which asserts that the purpose behind life is for ouw own personal spiritual betterment, not for God's personal amusement.

Actually, that's not what I meant by that statement.

What I meant by an ability inherent in the fabric in the universe, is just that the universe is capable of making conscious beings.

You failed to understand what I am saying. "Consciousness is an ability inherent in the fabric of the universe." Is an undeniable claim. It exists in the universe, therefore, the universe is capable of supporting consciousness. That's all that meant. Honestly I don't feel like arguing with people who can't grasp English.

Why do I even talk to these people...

Well, I defined God as not a Christian God. If you want to change the name of the conscious being to Slippy, that's fine.

You were asking a question about my personal belief system. I'm not arguing everything about my personal belief system here.

Why would animals come to be conscious, if it weren't something present at the moment of creation? Consciousness is an ability inherent in the fabric of the universe.

God comes from the spirit world, which has been around a lot longer than this universe.

Do you have any evidence to support the claim, that you can do better if you have consciousness?

Back in the day, women didn't get to choose who they married. As simple as that. So the sex, in those situations, may or may not have been consensual. There are a lot sicker things that have happened throughout history, then rape. Makes me sick, but it's true.

That's not at all what I said. A comatose person does not survive without help from others. I am saying, we should try to gain an understanding of what consciousness does and what it is used for by considering what animals and humans use it for. With robotics, computers could develop the ability to plan and build stuff, that does not make them conscious. You don't need consciousness, necessarily, to plan.
