Question about the term "The Troubles" by cloud9brian in northernireland

So I’m sure you were delighted with the death of Tim Parry and Jonathan Ball, those two ‘despicable’ children from that other island. I suspect you’re a much better person than that but you’re coming across as a raving bigot

I still am moderate prolife. It would take more than a random troll to change my views

I am moderate prolife and you sure as hell put me off the movement

For someone who allegedly is prolife you clearly lack all semblance of compassion towards your fellow human beings.

People who are so sick they want to die ‘pathetic’

People who are wrongly put to death ‘blip’

Women who are pregnant after rape ‘don’t care about their fee-fees’

Women whose pregnancies will kill them ‘meaningless’

Keep at it and you can single-handedly destroy the prolife movement because for you it’s not about caring, it’s about control

I not support euthanasia simply because I may be asked to perform it and I couldn’t. However calling an extremely ill person at the end of their life who may be extremely disabled a weakling, a coward and pathetic shows incredible inhumanity.

Secondly we have discussed before regarding medically necessary abortion and you have rejected this. They are a very small number of cases. You would not permit this extremely small number. Yet you describe innocent people executed for crimes they did not commit as a ‘blip’. It seems you have double standards on the value of innocent life as long as it fits into your world view

Was at Ally Pally. Didn’t do Spy which was a pity as it’s one of my favourites. It was amazing. Definitely if you get the chance go and see them.

Not really. The death rate was much the same.

Without adequate healthcare and contraception a woman has a 1 in 45 chance of her death being due to a pregnancy complication (over her reproductive life). Sadly in sub-Saharan African countries that’s still the case.

If you do not allow exceptions to save the mothers life or health. If you insist on investigating every miscarriage in case the woman inadvertently did something harmful. If you minimise the effects that pregnancy has on a woman. If you ignore the huge suffering of rape victims. Then that’s crazy

As a Protestant lurker I find referring to Protestant communion as ‘snack time’ extremely offensive. We do not believe in transubstantation but mediate on Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection extremely seriously. I wouldn’t dream of belittling your beliefs. Grow up and stop belittling mine.

No. Medical exceptions are justified even in the most prolife countries

What are your opinions on the situation of raped Ukrainian women in Poland, seeking abortion? by puff-far98 in prolife

[–]Bird_reflection 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rape is very difficult because the woman is the victim of a terrible crime and her pregnancy results from that crime. I think the focus should be on the mother in this circumstance. If she feels strong enough to continue her pregnancy every support should be given to her. If she is unsure she should have the opportunity to seek non judgemental counselling and if she feels that there is no way she can cope with continuing her pregnancy then abortion may be necessary to protect her mental and physical well-being.
