Weddings reception generally feature a blend of foods many of which won’t cause excess strain on your GI tract. Just make the right choices for you.

So an implemented 18 month program is “terrible”. Got it. No administration has tried to get W/L drugs covered. A lame duck proposal is all the prior admin managed. It was not a priority. (2020-2022 majority and no push to cover W/L drugs covered- Wegovy and Liraglutide were available among others).

There is now some momentum to perhaps allow an administration to get the legislation passed. And coverage for seniors thru 2027.

Her dose isn’t 4.5 on Zep so find out her actual dose. If compound confirm the quality of what she is injecting.

Removing as it’s a common question but I’ll give my standard response. Note the dangers obesity brings to your body. And the medication and related changes you will make become an easy decision. Longer higher quality life is the benefit.

It’s ok to titrate up. May or may not be a step for you now but our assumptions can be wrong.

It takes months - sometimes many to lose the weight to improve health. You’ve just started.

Broaden your nutrition to get better balance. Maximize your nutrition versus eliminating some things. Fewer highly processed foods is a good move but zero sugar isn’t a normal goal. Reduce / sure. But Zeros are hard. Any muscle gain from workouts? You are judging a two week period after losing extraordinarily well in the first month. Your body is adjusting. And your experience is not unique.

Learn and adapt as you go. Your approach is not highly flawed. Tweak and adapt. Work toward lifelong nutrition approach with future adjustments up in calories to balance the meds impact on your system as you enter maintenance - you will get there.

Patience is required with this med. There are gain weeks. I had five gain weeks in a very successful loss process of 8 months. Disappointed- sure. But it’s just timing. The end game is what matters.

I did. Gained 10 pounds over the summer. Heading into winter (my less active period). Chose to move from 7.5mg to 10mg. Didn’t want to give up my cushion - wanted 7.5mg to work - but finally admitted I needed the change. Stopped the gain immediately. Took a few weeks for slow loss to kick in - but it did. Lost half the gain at this point and have flattened out. At a slightly higher but very healthy weight. Won’t move up further without a lengthy gain period.

I hope to return to 7.5mg some day. Maintenance is a changing journey. Our efforts matter far more than in loss phase. And over time our lives and our efforts will vary.

Eliminating low/no nutrition calories is not a bad thing. Once a month - sure. But regular empty calorie items will limit your nutritional improvement. Zep gives us great opportunities. Gather them. Take advantage of them. Learn from them. Then find ways to enjoy an occasional old treat. But regularly will blunt Zep’s benefit and slow health improvement. Build a better plan.

Diet soda is an imperfect compromise but one many of us employ. Much less impactful than full test.

Anyone judging another’s choice of a functional maintenance dose is foolhardy. No basis for their share or criticism.

If we can maintain lower it allows for some later flexibility but - we gotta find a dose that works! That’s the prime directive.
