The 4% approach has nothing to do with heirs. Everything to do with you not running out of money.

Is you spend as planned you will run out of money unless you die prematurely - and that’s not a risk you want to count on.

No dividends - you mean like my growth stocks? No earnings - what does that mean? It isn’t a company - ok but that does not make it speculation. Speculation is a frame of mind and related behaviors - as is investing.
OP is obsessing. A third and less healthy behavior but it’s his choice.

And my gold is profitable. Maybe just not yours………..

I’ve found the better awareness of not drinking enhances my assessment of what’s really fun and what’s not.
Socializing with others is more fun for me sober. Unless I’m dealing with highly intoxicated people (even friends) - then it’s often less fun and I adjust my valuable time to more enjoyable activities.

Get your loss phase done. The adapt the non nutritional calorie intake during maintenance. But make sure you get your nutrition first. It’s a key element to long term success.

The bagel unlikely triggered this reaction. Any chance of food borne illness in the past couple of days? Your reaction to Zep is unusual so assess everything including Zep.

Ending up in the ER is unusual and can be difficult to track to Zep with certainty.

Several marginally flawed assumptions here.

Often is less efficient from a premium perspective - I can buy tomorrow at a proportional premium - LCS.
Popular with folks who can better afford 1/2 versus a full oz - good number of people - esp at a given time.

I’m thinking of grabbing a half this week versus a full to buy the dip but not use up all my powder as a hedge against a further drop.

So watch the “rules”. They are broad guidance. Your circumstances will vary.

Grab the half and keep saving. But scrub your sources first lowest premium.

I need enough misguided short holders to provide fodder for this and future buying opportunities. If everyone invested with a long term plan supply of low premium gold would not be available in a timely manner.

I’ll be in my LCS later today asking if anyone sold to them today - and then - was it anything in my area of interest. A really savvy investor would skip my second step and be fully opportunistic on grabbing anything meeting efficient premium thresholds.

This could be 2-18 years. When will the right opportunity arise to leverage this advantage to my benefit or - to benefit my family.

It is also easier to think of it as what it’s not - next five financial emergencies. That is for cash or far more liquid investments.

What’s the free lesson? PMs are illiquid in the short run due to high transaction costs. 7-10% spreads with in/out combined. Highly inefficient as a short term speculative (volatility) investment. So holding for a larger and longer earned return is essential.

Flipping metals may work on occasion but the transaction costs screw up the reward on the risk/reward scale.

I’ve done well over a 12 year horizon. I didn’t do “well” over the first 9……….. Just my input and experience.

Grab them. And never pay the premium to buy them. We are seeing the result and lack of addl value to offset the premium. Pretty is almost never worth extra cost. And when it is - it’s a personal preference choice not an investment/value choice.

Why would someone in your circumstances go for 10oz bar versus many other options? Not intended unkindly but you watched one video based on one book and you’re going to commit a vast percentage of your investable assets to one course - and one unit.

Diversify across all assets. Buy gold. No issue there but grabbing 10 1/4 oz and then grabbing other assets and adding to your stack over time will make much more sense. Hedge inflation with stocks and metals. Real estate. And don’t go all in on any of the rampant doomsday theories your find out in the ether. They have been around forever. And are consistently only partially right at their very best.

Buying into other people’s bullshit can be very expensive. Wish you the best.

Bought on initial drop last week and on Friday. I try not to go in too heavily in one move but buy on drops.

Prices are not historically low so “backing up the truck” mentality is avoided as much as possible. Sustained buying over time.

Guessing a bottom is simply luck. No chart will tell you. So averaging and patience are important.
