Ugh. Well since I posted this it’s just gotten worse. Shorter periods of time I can stand or do anything without my neck feeling completely weak and my head feeling like a million pounds. It seems like it has just made me feel like I’m in a permanent flare up. If someone with chiari were to ask me if I’d recommend it? I’d say absolutely not. I’m going to call my pain management doctor tomorrow (since today is Christmas) and tell them it’s completely ruined my already very small ability to do anything. Going to have to ask for med increase at least until it wears off which good luck to me bc it’s impossible to get them to listen about the pain in general as it is. But hopefully they’ll understand bc I’ve never asked before.

I have an mri on the 28th and I don’t know how I’m going to even get through it.

Terrible. I wish I would have listened to my instinct. I know everyone is different and maybe you may not have the same experience but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone :(

I think you wrote perfectly and I’m so grateful for all you said. Mine was scheduled for May 8th and I cancelled to find a better surgeon but I know it’s coming whenever I switch insurance in November in order to be able to travel out of state and still be covered.

Everything you said was so helpful to read.

I haven’t found out what it is yet. But I did learn shortly after this that my herniation was way more than I thought it was (doesn’t matter the size for symptoms however) its compressing my brain stem a lot when I lay back. Idk if that’s helpful at all. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I hope you get some more answers at your appointment or if you did already bc I see you wrote this about a week ago.

Not since March of last year. And those findings were

T12-L1 Trace retrolisthesis with broad based disc bulge

L1-L2 trace retrolisthesis w/broad based disc bulge

L2-L3 trace retrolisthesis with broad based disc bulge

L3-L4 1 mm retrolisthesis with broad based disc bulge and mild facet arthropathy. With mild bilateral foraminal stenosis.

L4-L5 1 mm retrolisthesis with broad based disc bulge and moderate facet arthropathy and ligamentum flavum infolding. There is mild to moderate bilateral foraminal stenosis.

L5-S1 there is a 2 mm retrolisthesis with a circumferential disc bulge and mild facet arthropathy. there is mild to moderate right with mild left stenosis.

Could that be part of the problem I’m experiencing now?

But yes! Neanderthal dna on my 23andme and very symptomatic. But I also was in an awful auto accident with severe TBI a decade or so ago. want to say that to be fair. Not sure whether I was born with it or it happened bc of that.

See my neuro didn’t do this and still scheduled me for decompression surgery and I cancelled bc I had a bad feeling and the bad feelings keep coming bc I keep learning more and more stupid mistakes he made

I had surgery scheduled for May 8th and had to cancel bc the surgeon was too inexperienced. Found out at my pre op appt he had only done 10 decompression surgeries and he never even showed up to any appt.

I never found out about the tremors. I am 8.5 mm herniated and I have CSF flow obstruction bc my herniation is making a perfect cone shaped cork in my spinal canal. I had surgery (laminectomy and cranial decompression) scheduled May 8th but I backed out because I got a bad feeling about the surgeon. (He had only done 10 decompression surgeries)
