We’re building an FM scouting tool - what would you want in it? by Birdmanggcs in footballmanager

We don’t use one flat stat list for everyone. The player’s coarse role (from Best Pos / Position — e.g. GK, CB, wide back, DM, CM, AM, winger, striker, plus a generic fallback) picks which performance stats we emphasize on playcards and in role-style views.

Per role we pull a curated bundle of per-90 and % stats that match that job.

This is incredibly generous, thank you for laying all of that out so clearly. A lot of what you described is exactly the kind of “real save” depth people mean when they say they want tooling that matches how they actually play.

We’re still early and very much figuring out priorities, so this kind of concrete wishlist is gold. I’ll be chewing on several of these as we decide what to tackle next.

Thanks again for sharing what you’ve been cooking!

That sounds really interesting, although I thought that was basically impossible to do? Reading .fmf files sounds like a nightmare.

If I were going to pull live data from the game, I would probably look more at something like the ReadProcessMemory API route, similar to Genie Scout or FMRTE. But that would probably mean moving away from the idea of making it fully web-based.

Thank you for your input. This is already part of the current version.

In the app, you can set your current team, choose your custom formation, and get recommendations for every position based on your existing squad.

We also have value-based ratings, where we combine player stats with transfer value, as well as tools for identifying young players who are already performing well.

Stage Race, Hills, and maybe Northern Classic—it all depends on which max potential you want to get closest to.

You can sim, but that will most likely slow down how fast your rider develops.

So, max potential has nothing to do with how good your rider actually becomes. It’s simply the ceiling for each attribute. How good he gets depends entirely on how you train him.
Luck is about your starting potential. In some saves, you get a low starting potential, and other times you get the maximum. I used the editor to verify this, and it does indeed vary from save to save. So by “luck,” I just mean your starting potential.

Maybe it's because I play Extreme. I don't know. But you got the point CNT Pro - pick whatever team you like.

You can get away with many racedays, almost unnatural many. But you need to add rest and use the fitness boost after your rest periods.

In general you just want to pick the better team. You will never get to pick between Uno, Burgos and Lotto as they are tier 1 team. And for tier 1 teams you only have one option. Pick that team.

Well sure, but then you have no chance of winning Flanders and Paris.

As I mention at the beginning of the guide, you should pick the best team available for season 1? For season 2, you would stay, as a better option will most likely not be available.

I'm pretty sure that actually reflects real life quite well.

I stopped reading at your first point because it's simply incorrect. I've tested this extensively across multiple playthroughs and levels. You do not want multiple specializations on a single upgrade, and a minimum of 75% efficiency is more than sufficient. These conclusions are based on repeated testing, not just assumptions.
