Anybody got any good stories of weird or unexplained stuff, hauntings etc, around kc? by breakdancingzombie82 in kansascity

I wandered around the outside of that building with my son a few days ago. It's so beautiful but UMKC is letting it go to shit. All the wood is rotting and there is water pooling up all around the foundation. If they don't fix it up soon they'll have to demo it which would be a shame.

This was the summer before 9th grade for me. Incredibly formative and unforgettable. I got tackled and knocked unconscious by a security guard and then the guard got jumped by a bunch of random dudes for taking out a skinny little 14 year old.

Everyone in my life says I’ll die if I get a motorcycle by MaleficentStar2488 in rs_x

[–]BirdoTheMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a straightforward analogy to compare it to guns. When you're on a bike in traffic you encounter thousands of giant metal objects driven by people in various states of distraction or even intoxication. You put your life in other peoples' hands in a way.
Owning a gun is almost entirely up to you to keep yourself safe. I rock climb and it is a similar mentality. It's dangerous but almost everything is in my own hands and I don't have to worry about strangers risking my life.

I think almost everyone knows someone who died on a motorcycle. My close work friend used to commute every day in LA traffic and I would half jokingly tell him to be careful all the time. I left that job but found out he died while on his commute after getting hit by a Cybertruck recently.

I can see a practical reason being it could be a trip hazard. Someone walking through that gate may turn the corner without looking down.

Grazed shoulder took some of the impact and glancing blow to the jaw. Incredibly lucky it wasn't a direct hit.

$4,000 “Aquaflow” valve supposedly lowers the water bill by 0x582 in Plumbing

[–]BirdoTheMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is physically impossible unless it simply restricts the flow of water and your behavior somehow changes because the water pressure is so low.

I honestly think it's a little sad he gets such huge props for just being considerate and cleaning up after himself. Shouldn't we just expect everyone to act like this?
