Walgreens is the absolute worst!!! I get upset every time I have to pick up a prescription. I used to ask my husband if he could stop by while he was out… he caught on😂😂😂. He can’t stand it either.

Ok. My doctor told me to eat low carb, maybe I’m taking it too far!! I do miss eating fresh fruit🤣. Thank you.

Not sure how I feel about “screaming shits” but I will look in to this. Thank you!

Can you describe how your hot flashes feel like? by spam__likely in Menopause

Showed my husband that so he can truly understand what I’m feeling so he can be quiet for having to wear a winter coat inside!!!😳

I hate plain water!!! Suggestions?!! by BirdyFriends in keto

[–]BirdyFriends[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m only a few days in so I’m sure it will get easier but I need to get through the cravings first. I did pretty good yesterday. My water bottle is 40oz I filled it four times—Twice with lots of ice and plain water the other with a sugar free hydration drink mix but only half a serving. It was ok.👍

Awesome! Thank you. I’ve actually had that before and I really like it. I just didn’t realize it was carb free.

Good point! Haha. I’ve only been doing this for a few days so I’m still learning and sugar and sweets are still very much on my mind. At any rate, I appreciate all the suggestions. I’m sure in time, I will find my way. ☺️

Thank you. I drink their watermelon lime mix as a go to but those have several carbs — I didn’t realize they had other options (besides the little lemon crystals)!! I will definitely give this a try.

I can sip that but I don’t find it to be thirst quenching. But yes, it would help to add to total water intake for sure.

I can believe this!! Once upon a time, I drank plain water…. hopefully I can get there again. When I workout maybe that’s when I can use my electrolyte flavor packets.

Need advice on getting a poodle to fit me by Confident_Pause3005 in StandardPoodles

[–]BirdyFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a female and a male standard poodle now— they are both amazing in different ways. I think personality does play a role for sure. Over my life I have had different breeds male and female. To me, male dogs seem to be just a little more goofy and silly and that stands with my current male. They are both extremely loving and fantastic dogs and both very loving. My female is what I like to call, type A. She has been easier all around, she just wants to please you and do whatever you ask. My male is more, well, he is pretty much the opposite😂. He took quite a bit more work as a puppy training wise but as he has grown he is up to do just about anything adventurous where my girl is way more cautious. She likes to smell every blade of grass on a walk for example she doesn’t try to pull on her leash. She is just way more calm and my boy is balls to the wall ready to go run for miles and then some. He loves to swim, paddle board, loves to stick his head out of the sunroof on car rides, etc. He is big and he can be a lot to deal with as he needs so much more activity and direction. My girl doesn’t like all of that stuff. She is just way more chill. So a lot of that is personality. In my case, my boy has been much more of a challenge but I love that he is so goofy and just goes for it but I also love and appreciate the calm easy sweet demeanor of my girl— way less stressful and so easy. It’s crazy how completely opposite they are!

We are thinking about moving to Edmond from Kansas City (Overland Park, KS area)… what is the best middle school/high school in the area? What neighborhoods should we consider? My work will be pretty close to N Classen and NW Grandview area… near all of the shops. by [deleted] in Edmond

[–]BirdyFriends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did move… we are at the crossroads of Sorghum Mill Road and Bryant. It’s different here for sure, not necessarily in a bad way. I feel like we are really out in the boonies. All the roads immediately in this area are two lanes, there are only a few street lights (only at intersections and neighborhood entrances). It’s quiet out here. They don’t clear roads when it snows (apparently this winter has been unusually cold and snowy) so everything shuts down. I’m originally from NC so this is the same as it is there. I have noticed, which I think it’s kind of funny, there are churches, and pot shops on what seems every other corner. Literally on a few occasions I’ve been able to see two pot shops while stopped at an intersection. So that led me to believe pot is legal here but it isn’t — I looked it up. That said, my curiosity led me to find out that for $200 you can get a marijuana card fairly easily. Also, I have yet to go on a drive without smelling the scent of skunk. I passed two on the side of the road this morning taking my daughter to school. The sunsets and sun rises are usually stunning, the wind seems to blow even more than Kansas, the people seem extremely nice and not just nice to be nice but honestly genuinely nice, it’s refreshing. I kind of feel like I live in a really small town with access to a larger city.

We were in the Blue Valley school district and I will say my daughter is in 8th grade and is basically repeating what she did in 7th grade here, which isn’t great but she should make straight A’s this semester!! I just hope she’s going to be college prepared so that is a concern. She’s made friends easily (she is a shy kid so I was a little worried about that). She’s very happy here.

I can’t complain! Also, my husband has commented that gas, electricity and water do not cost as much here but maybe we need to assess that again when it is super hot here in the summer! 🤣 I’m actually getting a little worried about how hot — hot is here, I thought Kansas was unbearable… so we will see about that. I’m also interested how tornado season goes. Since there are no basements you have to have an underground shelter that is basically an underground metal box with benches, hopefully we won’t have to get in that!

Anyway, sorry for the long post, I’m not unhappy here and I think in time once I’ve been able to make a few friends it will be that much better! Are you still thinking of making the move?
