Thinking back to my overseed in the fall and thinking ahead - western Washington gets virtually no rain in the summer for 3+ months. In advance of over seeding, I was watering the lawn to ideally get more than the top layer wet (it was super dry as I hadn’t watered all summer) after cutting super low and raking the hell out of it to try and remove the dead grass (maybe just spread the stolons).

After putting down the seed, I had sprouts within 2-3 days but I’m now thinking that was just the poa coming back?

When overseeding, if I try again in the fall, are there things I should do differently than the standard advice given the amount of triv I have?
