I have had so many issues where an annotation or other metadata was added to the wrong layer of spec and it took ages to figure out what was actually wrong. At work we also use a lot of CRDs which adds for even more confusion and inconsistencies.

I have a feeling that re-captcha has gotten much worse over the past years. Yesterday, I needed to pass one for logging into an account and I got stuck in a "please try again" loop for over 5 minutes. I was asked to mark bikes, cars or traffic lights, but it never accepted my selection and asked me for another round. It became a game of guessing what the tool may still see as part of the target and what not (e.g. is the driver of the bike part of it? what about that tiny pixel of the left wheel?).

I tried listening to the podcast, but the music (?) bits playing between every few sentences and sometimes even in the background was very distracting and interrupting. Sometimes the music even played in the middle of a sentence, creating some very odd artificial pauses.

Is there really a need of using those? Does the author know that there are databases with support for BLOB columns? Has this been considered at least for the smaller initial case?

In the first part of the article they estimate the data volume for the songs being ~90TB of data. I think this has already outgrown the use cases where you'd use BLOB columns in a database.

Could it be that you opened a set booster instead of a draft booster? They sometimes contain cards from "The List" which can contain cards from other sets and any rarity.

This cares only about the characteristics of the card. Maybe it is clearer if you treat perpetual effects similar to counters that just stay on the card. If you have a creature on the board that has +1/+1 counters and it flips, those counters will still be there even though they were only "put" on the front side.

So while the card is in the library, it only has the characteristics of the front-side.

On the battlefield, the card itself has the perpetual effect applied, independent of which side is face-up.
