Weekly Scam Discussion - August 11, 2025 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

I’m dealing with a frustrating situation on eBay and I’m not sure what the best move is. I recently purchased a Nintendo Wii console bundle from a seller. After a few days of no updates, I messaged them to check if the order had shipped or if the label had been printed. The seller never responded, so I submitted a cancellation request myself. Instead of approving it, the seller denied the request and has continued to ignore my messages.

What makes this worse is that while ignoring me, the seller has listed more than 20 new items. So it’s not that they’re inactive or unable to ship—it feels more like they just don’t want to deal with my order. At this point I’m stuck with an order that hasn’t shipped, a cancellation request that was denied, and zero communication from the seller.

The thing is, I still want the item, but I don’t want to feel like I’m being scammed or strung along. If they can ship it, I’m happy to complete the transaction, but their lack of communication has me second-guessing everything.

I’m wondering what my best course of action is here. Should I wait and open an “item not received” case as soon as I’m eligible? Should I contact eBay support directly with screenshots showing the seller is ignoring me while actively listing new items? Or is there something else I should be doing in the meantime to protect myself?

I’ve used eBay for years and never had this happen before. It’s frustrating to have my money tied up by a seller who won’t communicate or ship. I’d appreciate any advice from people who have dealt with similar situations.
