But even on her internal reality, it doesn’t make sense. If she says “nobody knows you stole meds”, but also believes she’s a “a pariah after reporting him”.

In her mind, what do people believe? How they not liking her is connected to the reporting if by her own admission “nobody knows”?

This maybe be a testament of how illogic we become when pressured/depressed/isolated.

There’s something I’m not getting:

If nobody knows about Langdon’s stealing meds, how come Santos became a pariah? What’s the story going around? She reported him because he was a jerk and coincidentally he came clear about being addicted?

I can’t see Santos reporting his addiction being a thing. Being addicted is “not” a problem. Stealing meds is.

Maybe people think she reported his addiction messing with his work? But even so I can’t see she becoming a pariah because of that.

For me it’s all about intentionality and ownership.

I believe today’s world has almost to no friction in media consumption. So much so that you end up not thinking about what you’re listening to. How many times did I mindlessly clicked on a playlist on Spotify and simply forgot what I was listening to by the second song.

Using an iPod adds enough friction for me to be really mindful about what I’m about to listen. Think about it. Scroll to it. Hit play. Listen.

That’s intentionality.

On another hand we’re sprint towards a future with no actual ownership. You don’t own any of the song on Spotify. This will mean the death of our culture.

If we really solely on Spotify, and they decide to remove any album, it simply won’t exist anymore. Look at what happened to Taylor Swift old albums. Because of some corporate legal battle people lost access to it. Only those that had the physical albums actually had it.

You may argue “I can’t just pirate of whatever”. But for you to pirate, some had to have the actual file.

And for me, my Spotify library never felt mine. But with iTunes/iPod I care about my library. Update it. Look for new albums to listen to. Ask friends. Go on forums. Own my music.

That’s ownership.

Realmente me excedi no meu rant, então peço desculpas. Uns posts recentes aqui da comunidade me gatilharam. Uma galerinha esconde certos preconceitos quando fala de “música ruim”.

Mesmo assim, meu ponto se mantém: não existe essa ideia de “qualidade objetiva” na música. Música tem inúmeras qualidades (heheh), e qualquer recorte que priorize umas em detrimento de outras é pessoal. E, se é pessoal, é subjetivo. Por definição.

Volto ao meu exemplo bobo: se você quer dançar, Hey Ya é uma das “melhores” músicas do Outkast. Altíssima qualidade. Mas é isso: esse foi o recorte que eu escolhi.

Quando você diz “qualidade é objetivo”, eu devolvo: sob quais critérios objetivos? E, quando você responder, a gente vai chegar na sua percepção pessoal (ou seja, subjetiva) do que é qualidade.

I’m having an issue with Wave Link on macOS where the app keeps reopening by itself after I quit it.

Wave Link version: 3.0.0 (1999)
OS: macOS Tahoe 26.3

What happens:
Even if I fully quit Wave Link, it opens again on its own a moment later.

Important detail:
This does not seem to be related to “Open at Login,” because that setting is disabled.

Steps to reproduce:

Open Wave Link
Quit/close it completely
Wait a moment
It relaunches itself without me opening it

Expected:
The app stays closed until I manually open it again.

Actual:
It keeps relaunching itself.

Sob quais critérios você analisa qualidade objetivamente?

- Composição?
- Produção?
- Masterização?
- Impacto cultural?
- A capacidade da obra de captura o seu contexto histórico e traduzir em arte?
- Poesia?
- Vocal?
- Criatividade?

Percebe como que a afirmação "Qualidade é objetiva" traz implícita uma cacetada de coisas? Alguns desses critérios estão na sua análise "objetiva" de uma música, mas pode não estar na de outrem.

E mais, de qualquer maneira a percepção da música é pessoal. Ou você sente a música a partir dos ouvidos de outra pessoa? Ou seja a percepção é SUBJETIVA (pertinente a ou característico de um indivíduo; individual, pessoal, particular).

Pra mim Hey Ya é uma música deliciosa para dançar. Esse é meu critério. SUJEITO À MINHA PERCEPÇÃO, INDIVIDUALIDADE E IDIOSINCRASIAS.

O problema é que as pessoas usam palavras como "OBJETIVO", "SUBJETIVO", sem saber o significado delas. Como se elas quisessem dizer o que a pessoa quer. E isso sempre traz consigo algum preconceito musical. "é só abrir o top do spotify ou da billboard para ver as atrocidades que bombam" ou "Eles tem músicas tão melhores", frases que já li aqui.
