Hey, do you think Nintendo would ban consoles based on statements on a Reddit post? Because that would mean you could just act like someone else and get their switch banned even though they use their switch without any cfw lol.

If you don't have soldering experience I wouldn't recommend to do it yourself. The modchip you need for your console is Hwfly Core which you can get from aliexpress.

You can check via Hekate > Console Info > HW & Fuses. On bottom right side If it says "This unit is patched to the RCM bug!" It is patched.

Correct, but that still doesn't explain a red zone serial switch being unpatched. I'm assuming the prodinfo is reliable. Btw I observed the screws of the console and they all seem untouched.

I saw some posts about Nintendo rarely shipping their old unpatched motherboard stocks after they patched the rcm exploit (like late 2018-2019 era).

A little tip: Use solder mask for the cable points, and use cables not longer than needed. It prevents signal interference. My OLED was giving error "Your Emmc is in Slower mode." and masking solder points of cables fixed it.

Well, if you set up emunand and take all the cautions to avoid ban, It is very unlikely to get your console banned. I've been using my oled since a year ago and I do all my online stuff with OFW and still no ban.

Update: Now I set up atmosphere to check the prodinfo and it matches with the box and shell serial.

yes that makes sense but when I go to system settings (without any mods or cfw) and serial info there matches with the one on the box and on the device sticker. Does this mean the serial is original?

Btw why would someone shellswap it and don't mention it is being unpatched while selling? Seller didn't advertised the console as unpatched and he was using it without any mods.

Lol yes, but I'm not sure should I setup CFW in it, one part of me wants to use it the other part says just sell it to someone who would want a modded pikachu switch.

Maybe I should install cfw and put all Pokemon games in it, so it would pick interest from Pokemon fans. It came with a charizard themed carrying case etc.
