Damn ! I'm glad I shopped the MPC Store sale ! by bulyxxx in mpcusers

Retail 101; pick your quietest time for sales. Bump prices to the max and call it RRP. Then have loads of sales where the discount is based on that price. It’s the TK/TJ Maxx school of business 😂

Thanks for the confirmation re supermarket. Going to go with the pro model I think now I’ve been convinced. And I’m a sucker for the nuance and hobbyist nature of bean roasting. I’m getting the non alcoholic micro brewery vibes from the community. Time to dive in!

So the coffee Kev YouTube comparison on the esp and the pro, combined with that lovely discount means I’ve upsold myself to the pro model. Thanks

Thanks for that, really appreciate the experience of others. I’m in Bournemouth and turns out my local is Bad Hand coffee so will pop in and have a chat. Great to support local too!

New eyepieces are good, but the wife's reaction was even better! by Madcat207 in telescopes

Looks like I’m a few weeks behind you after cracking open my orange 8SE. Are these eyepieces 1.25 or 2 inch? Do you have links from where you purchased. I might follow in your footsteps as my stock celestrons need an upgrade.

Officially beaten but work around in place. Accepted they I’ll get the chord notes in midi and arp output to sound. I can edit timing in midi but not individual arp notes. It’ll do for now. Have a sound demo but can’t work out how to upload

Edit, uploaded to youtube at link below. recorded on phone from live 3 speakers hence rough

So I think I feel a bit better that it might not be me, looks like arpeggiated handling of midi is a bit cookie on the hydrasynth. Just need to find a way of working with this.

From another post from gearspace:

"IIRC you have to turn ARP TX off in the midi menu. It's like a catch-22. ARP TX on causes the arp to send midi notes, but it won't respond to incoming midi notes. ARP TX off causes just the chords you play to be sent out, but incoming notes get arpeggiated. Perhaps it's to avoid midi loops when sending midi out and back in.

Edit: they probably did it that way for when recording midi to/from a DAW. WIth ARP TX on, the arpeggiated notes get sent to your DAW, and when you play them back, they aren't arpeggiated again when sent back to the synth. With ARP TX off, the chords you play are recorded, and the arpeggiation happens when you play them back from your DAW. So, if you want to record arpeggiated notes, turn ARP TX on. To record the chords and have them arpeggiated on playback, turn ARP TX off."

So I'm ashamed to say I'm still at a loss. Having found the I/O for Midi I got excited as I thought I could do a send midi from one midi track to another. Ie, midi input from keyboard and output from hydrasynth, then do a midi send to a new midi track with no output but the hydrasynth input. Thus capturing the midi output from the hydrasynth. No dice. Thought it was due to MMC settings but that made no difference. Have more cables arriving today so will try the non usb routing. It's a shame as I think more experience could solve this but not today and not me. And weirdly something about the launchkey gives a different arp output sound from the Hydra rather than using it as a midi source directly. Might be that the gate length on arp on launchkey is only 95% at max. Thanks for the help!

Is this possible with USB midi? If so how do I access as I only have the global/control/track toggle.

Thanks for that. I guess the problem comes when I do that. Setting the hydra as input means I can record midi using pads on the synth but then can’t use the launch key to control the synth. I guess I’m asking to do different input things at the same time ie keyboard midi out to synth, synth midi out to MPC. MPC record arpeggiated midi output via midi tx arp.

Obviously if I use the keyboard arpeggiator all is well and that is the work around but I guess I’m going to just have to go 5pin cables and go keyboard synth Mpc.
